Do you need to take prenatal vitimans while trying to conceive a baby?Where is the best place to get them? What brand is good?
Thanks

I went to my OBGYN just a few days ago, and she said "Are you taking any prenatal vitamins?" I told her no and she looked at me kind of funny. "You should be taking them 2 months before you even try to conceive." She told me that anything over the counter at the drug store would be fine. I found one – Stuart Prenatal vitamins at Riteaid for 30 dollars- You take one tablet a day. If you want to read reviews from people go to drugstore.com and look up ‘Prenatal vitamins’. Best of luck to u!
i think it all depends on the person if you feel as if your body needs the iron and calcium then i would say take it but i didnt take it throughtout my whole pregnancy and i was fine and my baby was 100% healthy
It’s not necessary, but my doc told me when i got pregnant, that it’s very good and should take prenatal vitamins, at least 3 months before getting pregnant, since the baby takes a lot from your body.
It’s a good idea to take them, and folic acid too, you need both when you’re pregnant anyways so it’s a good idea to start taking them now. You can get them at any drug store. And don’t hesitate to ask your dr. Good luck!
It is always best if you do. I would also take Folic Acid & Vitamin B6-12… you can get Pre-Natal meds are GNC, Wal-Greens and anyother Pharmacy ask a Pharmacist about the brands… I would say they serve the same purpose…
It is not a necessary thing to take but it can be beneficial…. You can get any brand, they are all the same execpt the brand name. I used the ones from walmart- i forgot the name but they had a pink and white label on it…. Not to mention they were good price… i think i spent about 10 dollars on a bottle of 250 pills.
Every Doctor will recommend you start taking prenatal vitamins while TTC to prepare your body and make it healthier for the baby. I, personally, did. I got them from Wal Mart, just a regular brand that said PRENATAL on them with a baby on the front.
I used to be quite unhealthy. I mean every morning I woke up I felt like crap, like a hangover, but it went away after a few hours if I relaxed for a while, but after taking the prenatals I feel like a whole new person. I’m SOO glad I started taking them before I conceived my child, because I am very comforted that he is going to have the best start in the world. Especially since he was a surprise! A surprise while TTC! Yeah!
It will make the enviroment better for the sperm/eggs/baby etc.
good luck
I was given folic acid the brand is Sundown Naturals 400 mcg. You need to start taking them like 2-4 Months befour trying even though I haven’t been on them that long. Good Luck.
I am a firm believer that you should be taking prenatal before conceiving…. Prenatal has stuff in them that is good for both you and your baby. Not to mention that Prenatal vitamins help prevent neural tube defects (serious abnormalities of the brain and spinal cord). My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year and a half… I started taking prenatal vitamins and a month later I got pregnant. Unfortunately I just had a miscarriage recently. But if you are trying to conceive it is definitely a good idea to be taking them.
yes you should take folic acid and try drinking a lot of green tea.
