Anyone ever get pregnant with a copper IUD and not miss a period?

"After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy!"

"After over 7 years of trying to conceive and thousands of dollars spent on infertility treatments, I had actually succeeded to get pregnant the natural way without any drugs or medical intervention "

" I just wanted to say thank you for writing this program and for giving hope to women at my age. I am 46 and I am finally going to be a mother."

I know there is a failure rate but is it possible to become pregnant while using an IUD and still get regular periods? Just curious.
* Thanks for the info but I don’t consider that abortion. If I did than I would consider most other types of birth control abortion since essentially they are "killing the sperm" that could have (and probably would have) made a baby. Not interested on anyones views of right vs. wrong when it comes to contraception, just wanted to know if anyone ever experienced getting preggo while having their period with an IUD. Thanks

I got pregnant using the Copper 7 IUD. Don’t remember if I had a period or not because it was right after I had given birth to son number one. Son number two was born two months premature, 14 months after my first son.

BTW, my IUD traveled from my uterus to my bowel. They only found it during exploratory surgery to find it. Bowel was ruptured and leaking and I was darn lucky! Had a tubal ligation during the same surgery, then a hysterectomy years later.

If I was younger and needed to worry about contraception again, I’d probably go with an IUD again.

Yes, it is possible. Just ask my sister. Not to mention, she had her period the entire 9 months. But baby and mom are both fine.

Did you know IUDs cause abortions? The way they work is they let the egg and sperm meet, making a baby and then the IUD keeps the baby from implanting. If you didn’t know that and you are against abortion, you should get it out right away. The pill and patch can sometimes do that too, I know because I called the company and asked them. Barrier methods are better like (diaphragm, condoms, female condom etc).
