Okay heres the deal.
Im 17, and my PREGNANT girlfriend is 14.
Our sex was consensual, and i did nothing wrong like force her or pressure her, but I’m worried about the age difference.
We live in TEXAS, and our babies due soon.
Do i have to worry about the hospital reporting me or Do i have to worry about putting my name on my daughters birth certificate and me getting in some sort of trouble?
PLEASE help me out!

    no its not illegal

go have a baby. but i cant help but wonder, are you giving it up for adoption? i may be better for the baby, especially if the mother is 14 and you are 17. that’s really young. i would look into it! :) but still congrats

Contrary to what the other posters are saying, even if someone isn’t 18 but still over the age of consent (17 for Texas), it can still be illegal to have sex with someone under the age of consent. ( I didn’t know this until recently)

HOWEVER, it is still legal under Texas law as long as the person isn’t more than 3 years older and of the opposite sex. So you are good, don’t worry about being in any legal trouble and congratulations!! :-)

  3. kiy says:

    No, it’s only if you’re 18 & over..
Also, you still won’t get into trouble unless her parents report you..

i’m a texan too baby, anyway i dont think you’d get in trouble with the laws, but with the parents-that’s very likely

  6. SaraShayne says:

    nope.

not only are you both still minors but you are also protected by the four year law which means regardless if both people are minors or not as long as there are no more than 4 years between them, its fine.

    I live in texas also.

  7. bree13 says:

well technically you’re still a minor so i dont think you can get in trouble with the law maybe with her parents lol

  8. gabrielita_babyface says:

well your not an adult so i dont think you’ll be in trouble but your gf herself is just a baby.. so good luck guys.

  9. Orlando says:

  10. give says:

Something tells me this has happened in Texas before. You ought to be fine and in no trouble with the law.
