HELP. Me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex today. She started taking birth control 13 days ago (about 2 weeks). Is there a chance she could get pregnant? If so what’s the chances? Ugh I’m really scared right now please someone help..
to laura:she started them on the first sunday of her period.is there any more info you can get with that?
AND I KNOW ABOUT THE 1%.JESUS

Yes,she might get pregnant. This is why you use a condom AND birth control to prevent pregnancy, her pill may not have been effective yet (it usually takes at LEAST two weeks for the pill to be effective, but the doctors have always told me that if I wanted to prevent pregnancy even farther to use backup for the whole first month). If she was started the pill the day of her period, she would be protected all month, and probably wouldn’t end up pregnant, but it all depends on when she started her pill as well.
no, it takes 7 days to work
or it started working straight away if she took it on the first day of her period.
well yes of course there is a 1% chance. but it’s very unlikely she is pregnant.
There is a chance. There would still be a chance (though slimmer) even after years…..no birth control is 100% effective.
Umm yes. you can get pregnant at any time when you are on borth control.
I was on brithcontrol and got pregnant.
It’s possible to get pregnant no matter how long you’ve been on the pill. It’s never 100% effective.
So yes, there is a chance.
You are not in the clear until she has been on B/C pills for a month without missing a pill. You don’t rely on anyone to keep you from becoming a father too young. If you are not ready to take on the responsibilities that go along with being sexually active then you don’t jump without the parachute. Use a condom.
Yes it’s always possible, considering birth control pills aren’t 100% affective. It takes 3 months for the pills to protect you the 98% they’re suppose too. (My doctor told me that when I first started using them.) Good Luck — Try using condoms as well as birth control.
