Okay, so I started Depo Prevera birth control shot at the end of may this year.
The shot is effective for 13 weeks. My doctor told me that i had to be back before August 23rd for my second shot. She said to come a little bit before that day so the shot would still be in effect. Well through out the summer, my boyfriend and I have been having sex. (With condoms though of course). So yesterday morning, August 19th, my mom and I woke up and went over to the hospital so i could get my second shot. We had a couple other things to do that day then we cam back home. I told my boyfriend that i would go and see him so i went over to his house. Well we ended up having unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me. I didn’t know he did until he told me afterwards. I freaked out.
So does anyone know if i could possibly get pregnant? I read that its hard to get pregnant after a shot since it’s still in your system. But i mean it was pretty much the 13th week, yet that morning i got my shot. I talked to my mom and she said that even though its on the 13th week, the birth control is still going through my system and that i shouldn’t worry about it. I got the second shot 4 days before the actual 13 weeks are over and it’s still within the 13 week period
Am i still protected by the birth control?

It’s highly unlikely. Take a pregnancy test if you’re so worried and don’t have unprotected sex any more if it’s going to stress you out so much.
