My period is very irregular and unpredictable so I was wondering if that would cause a pregnancy test to not work, or not work as well.
If that is the case, what are other ways that you can tell if you’re pregnant?
And is it harder to get pregnant if you have irregular periods?

An irregular period is actually an irregular ovulation. A woman goes through phases in her cycle, and the time from the ovulation to the next period is nearly always the same each month for every individual woman. I found this out when I was charting my cycles when trying to conceive. I have VERY irregular periods (anywhere from 30 to 60 days), but once I ovulated it was ALWAYS 13 days until my next period. That’s how I determined when to do a test.
If you aren’t charting, the way to do a test accurately while not knowing when to expect your period is to test 2-3 weeks after you have sex. Are you trying to conceive? Irregular periods might make timing a little more tricky, but itself does not make you infertile. You could also try using an ovulation predictor kit if you are not comfortable with charting, or a combination of both. If you want more info about either, just google them and you should find info about both. Good luck!
Pregnancy test do work with irregular periods but for a more accurate reading go get a blood test from the doctor.
pregnancy tests detect Human Growth Hormone, this is ONLY present if you are pregnant!
Whether or not your period is regular has no effect on the result, I can attest to that! My cycle ranged between 28 and 90 days in length so we had a couple of occasions where my husband thought I might be pregnant and it was just a case of my period deciding to come a bit later than the 28 days he expected.
When I’m pregnant I suffer from EXTREME fatigue towards the end of the first trimester, that’s the dead giveaway for me! I don’t get morning sickness, just very tired. Usually though, you’ll just have a ‘feeling’ that something is different internally.
I fall pregnant at the drop of a hat, so irregular periods certainly hasn’t dropped my fertility, I know quite a few women who have clockwork periods and they have had extreme difficulty in conceiving.
its not harder to get pregnant just because you have irregular period i have very irregular period sometime i get it at 36 days sometime 29…. every month is different but if you know when you ovulate then you are able to get pregnant or lucky timing ….. each time i tested it always show up an accurate answer so to answer you’re question no irregular period does not make pregnancy test to be inaccurate ….
