I went to the specialist on Friday and they tested my hormone levels and my Thyroid function. Apparently I have an under active thyroid and he prescribed some medication. What I want to know is if anyone has had this problem and how long did it take to conceive after starting treatment? Apparently an under active thyroid does affect fertility and can cause a lower IQ in children if you do conceive.
i had a thyroid problem and my son was concieved in a month and he is a smart active child. you just have to be careful during and before pregnancy that you take your medicines regulary and your thyroid levels are under control.
My friend has an under active thyroid and was having problems conceiving. She took the medication to get it under control and was able to get pregnant 2 months later. Good Luck!!!!
