first let me say i know what this feels like. my husband and i have been trying for 1.5 years with no luck. my periods are also irregular and that makes it a bit harder. this just means that you are going to have to work a little harder. find out the exact days of your ovulation and monitor your body temperature. its only been 5 months so give it a little bit longer. the average time it takes for a heathty couple to conceive its about a year. after this you should both go to the doctor and see what is going on, but still this might not mean that their is anything wrong with either of you. some couples just take a little longer.
remember to stay possitive and trust in god, the day will come!!!

    Best options:
    (a) have sex every day.
    (b) learn how to find out when you ovulate; google "cervical mucus" to see what your body is telling you; some women bleed a tiny bit just before ovulation too (google that); there are OPK tests, pee sticks that tell you when you get that LH surge just before ovulation.

You may even figure out what the pattern is so you can know when is right without expensive pee sticks. Target has a fairly cheap set, 7 OPK sticks for about $12.

Even if when sperm an egg are together at the right time, the odds of pregnancy "catching" are usually only about 1 in 4 for a woman under 30. (Gets worse after that). SO don’t be discouraged if it takes a while…

    Good luck!

The having intercourse everyday reducing the sperm count is a total myth. The best chance to get pregnant is to have sex every day. Sometimes your body will not allow you to get pregnant that soon after having a baby. Your body just may need time to readjust to get pregnant again. Usually after a year you will start ovulating regularly again. Wait a few more months and see. Keep doing your ovulation tests and good luck!
