We’ve been trying to conceive since about Sept 2007. Mostly really trying since my m/c in Jan 2008. My question is every cycle during the tww, how bad is it to drink my morning coffee. If I got a BFP I would stop instantly. It’s just a little hard to give up when you don’t know for sure.

My OB/GYN told me that she allows up to a cup of coffee a day even when you are pregnant – as long as you don’t have anything else with caffeine in it, like sodas or chocolate.
So I’d say continue to enjoy that morning cup of coffee during the 2ww – if you’d feel more comfortable, quit after getting a BFP.
Good luck!
I was pretty strict and didn’t drink coffee while trying to conceive or when I was pregnant. But I could have sworn I just recently heard that they say caffeine is okay now??! I really think in moderation it’s okay. One cup in the morning probably fine! Good luck! FYI: Have you tried the ovulation kits yet? You can get them at your local store! Worked the first time for us!
It’s not bad, 1 cup won’t do anything, no need to give up your morning cuppa if you’re pg, especially if that’s all you have, 2 a day is even ok, not sure after that though, I wouldn’t give it up, let yourself have one lil joy for yourself. it won’t cause any harm at that level (unless it is really really strong) if it’s just a normal cuppa, don’t stress about it, enjoy it!
I don’t think that 1-2 cups will hurt you – I know lot’s of women who conceived & were coffee drinkers. Just watch your intake. Also, don’t think that it’s the coffee from preventing you from conceiving. 1/4 time its you, 1/4 time it’s your partner, 1/4 you just don’t know (which was my case).
I have read, however, that coffee is GOOD for men who are trying to father a child. Before ‘the deed’, men are advised to drink one strong cup (black).
Good luck. I know how frustrating this is.
me too i have read that coffee is good for men before sex since it helps the sperms swim faster.. and some article says avoid coffee. I dont know which is true. I will ck with my doc and write back:)
