How can I tell if my pregnant cat is having trouble with labor and giving birth?

I have 2 cats: a mother and her daughter. They both snuck out and got pregnant at the same time. Yesterday, the mother cat gave birth to 4 beautiful, healthy kittens. Now, her pregnant daughter is nursing her mother’s kittens. She is showing signs of labor and contractions for nearly 24 hours now, but hasn’t given birth yet. This is her first litter. I am concerned that nursing while she’s in labor has affected her ability to give birth. Can someone help me?
You need to have her seen. If she is having contractions and its been 24 hours. she showing signs of dystocia and probably needs a C-section. Please see a vet ASAP.
I shouldn’t really affect her ABILITY, but nursing taxes very heavily on her strength and so does being pregnant. separate the two families. and get all of them spayed or neutered as soon as they are old enough. they will be happier, healthier, and you will have helped the over population problem. 3 birds with 1 stone
Have the mother of the kittens start nursing her own kittens. She may of forgotten that she is in labor and thinks that her mothers kittens are her own. Pack her up and take her to the vet or if that is impossible due to scedule or something just call your local vet to see what you can do. Best of Luck.
set those cats apart different rooms so that the kitties mother would take care of her own cats .i dont think the daughter cat had lost her ability to give labor everything should be ok but if its not then just see the vet
I helped a first time mammy cat in labour, it wasn’t easy for her out of 5 kitten only one went smoothly the last one was still born, nothing could’ve been done with that one, two others I had to pull a bit when she pushed the 4th I had to break the sack and get it breathing.
If she’s having trouble in labour call the vet, with a cats first litter it will be hard on her and she may not know what to do.
Also why are you letting her nurse the other cats kittens? Get the mother of those back in and give them separate nursing areas
