I was reading posts about women getting pregnant after their husbands had a vasectomy. Could it be possible? Whats the percentage of this?
Could the reason be why they could be pregnant is because the men’s vasectomies aren’t permanant? Whats the cause?

it could be called cheating
Cheating is not good.
malpractice or adultery.
sometimes either the vasectomy failed or the tube grew back.
Either she cheated, or the vasectomy went wrong.
Either his vasectomy was defective or she cheated. Thank God for DNA testing.
there is always a chance 1 in 10 000 I think!
there are cases that a vasectomy doesn’t work
It happens often enough. Sometimes they just miss.
My husbands little sister was concieved by the father having a vasectomy and mother having her tubes tied. Sometimes I guess you can’t beat God
The primary cause is that the man fails to return to the doctor to find out if there is any residual sperm.
In 1 in 1000 cases, the body grows a new tube around the blockage. This most often happens 3-5 years after the surgery, but I know of one couple where it occurred 11 years later.
[edited to add] And yes, as other posters indicated, there could also be malpractice going on.
Because after the procedure is done the man still has sperm present for up to a year. There is still sperm built up. My husband had one early February and he still has sperm present. They told him to masturbate once a day and hopefully in a few months it will be gone. Also the doc told him going into it that it can be reversed sometimes but that you should fully expect that it won’t – so I would say that yes, once the sperm is gone, it is permenet.
YES!
There are drawbacks to having ,a vasectomy done, the first being there is a small percentage, a bit over 1 in 1000 that the vasa deferentia may grow back and make it possible for you to father a child. It’s a small percentage but it can happen. Another drawback is that it is still possible to father children up to 8 weeks after having a vasectomy. So during that time, and possibly longer if the tests your doctor performs at 6 and 8 weeks say there is still viable sperm, you will have to use an alternate method of birth control.
Vasectomies are permanent when done correctly. However, in about 0.15% of cases (that’s about 15 cases per 10,000), pregnancy may occur after vasectomy because of: (1) Failure to use another birth control method until the sperm count is confirmed to be zero. It usually takes 10 to 20 ejaculations to completely clear sperm from the semen. (2) Spontaneous reconnection of a vas deferens or an opening in one end that allows sperm to mix with the semen again. This is very rare.
If there is a pregnancy after a husband has had a vasectomy, it doesn’t necessarily mean the wife is cheating…
they have affairs
I did not cheat, so the person who wrote that is ignorant, and I got pregnant after my husband has his vasectomy 6 months later. The doctor "forgot" to tell us to use birth control for up to one year. My husband was to come back for another test to see if he had any sperm count.
The reason being is that vasectomies are not 100%, they may be 99% but then there is that 1% chance that she will still get pregnant. It is usually a very reliable thing to do, unfortunately sometimes they do not gaurentee 100% safety.
yes it is possible to still get pregnant after your husband has a vasectomy. the chances are slim but still there, especially if they had sex soon after the vasectomy!
If the man had a vasectomy, and had sex with his wife shortly after, then she can become pregnant. You have to wait 6 weeks after the procedure, and then get your sperm count done before assuming that it’s safe to have sex. So to answer your question…Yes, it’s possible. If it was months or years down the road, the chances are slim to none he got her pregnant. The doc that did my husband’s V. said he had done it over 20,000 times and has never had a failure.
yea but it depends how long ago the surgery was. sometimes the disconnected tissue can grow back. and if it does it wouldn’t happen no more than three months after the surgery. in that case it wouldn’t make the surgery permanent, that’s why they have to go back for check ups
the procedure wasn’t accurate. they should take that situation to court because it should have worked!
does the baby look like your neighbor?
A man needs to ejaculate 15 times before the sperm is out of his system. Then he needs to have it tested to make sure there is no sperm. Also, she may have cheated on him.
they cheated.
it’s possible they never got them in the first place

no, they are permanant, but like almost like everything else, not 100 percent effective.
One half million men each year get a vasectomy. Only 99% of the vasectomies successful (that is one reason why the semen analisys is done). Many men never go back to get the semen analisys. That works out to 5,000 men each year that are still fertile. If half of them never go back and get the semen analisys done, then that means 2,500 men will still be fertile, and never know it.
If the surgery was successful, that means the vasectomy is still only 99.9% effective. So that means 500 men, each year, will still be fertile.
Also keep in mind that not everyone gets a "traditional vasectomy". The so called, "clip", "tie", and "laser" vasectomy types reliy on blocking the vas tubes instead of cutting and burning them. These types of vasectomies tend to fail much more often.
To answer your question, the cause is caued by the quantity.
Personally, I would rather die than make a baby. I get my semen analisys done every five years. It is better to ejaculate into a cup every five years than take any risk.
