How do you feel about mothers smoking marijuana while pregnant and after they give birth? Are you against all mothers doing it or are you just opposed to doing it yourself?
I read on the internet that one of the girls from 16 and Pregnant this season (Jenelle) smoked pot throughout her entire pregnancy. I was really taken aback by how casual she was about mentioning it.
I think it’s the most stupid thing you could possibly do. And selfish beyond words. She risks damaging the fetus simply to get high? That girl shouldn’t be breeding; she’s too stupid to be allowed to procreate.
I am totally against it, my brother’s girlfriend did it while breast feeding and pregnant and their son didn’t come out as an okay little boy. It does have it’s affects. Now that I am a mommy, I feel as though I can never get drunk or do any type of drug because what if at that one time something happens to my son, how could I ever forgive myself? I am 19, I have drinken before but never done drugs or never have been drunk and as mother, I feel like I gave up nothing.
I think its selfish.
Oh I heard Jennelle is all about the Pro-marijuana stuff and still smokes around her baby. Mother of the year award to her. I wish I could punch her.

I think it’s just plain stupid and selfish.
I don’t agree with marijuana use period. ESPECIALLY while pregnant. That is just selfish. The mother is not thinking of her baby growing inside her. If you saw a newborn baby 1 day old would you blow smoke in him/hers face? I don’t think so.
If your not ready to make the right choices for your baby when your pregnant then your not ready for properly care for that child. Having a baby requires a lot of responsibility and sacrifices.

i think you should not smoke it while pregnant or after what baby wants a stoned mother and in some if not all states u can go to jail for having drugs in your system while being pregnant
I would like to tell you just what smoking pot could do to the baby (it doesnt happen all the time, but happened for this person)
An acquaintance of mine (only met 5-6 times) who was due March 12 2010, smoked pot her entire pregnancy. Last Friday at around 4:30 pm she went into the hospital thinking she was in labor, indeed she was…but to a child who had been dead for 2 days. What mother would not notice that the baby hadn’t moved in 2 days? A mother who was high out of her mind and too numb to realize what was going on. She was high while in labor at the hospital and everything. At first, before i found out what really happened I felt terrible for the mother and father (who knew she smoked pot all the time and did nothing about it) but when i found out that she had been smoking pot non stop that entire week, my feelings went to the deceased infant, as it was not fair that he had to go through that and if his mother wasn’t such a pot head he most likely would have survived.

Some couples who desperately wants a baby of their own to love and take care of are finding it so difficult to conceive. While some dumb teens can get pregnant so easily and expose their babies to this kind of environment. How is this at all fair??

i dont like weed as it is.. but a friend of mines doctor told her since she smoked it so much before getting pregnant to keep her stress down that it would be best for her to keep smoking so she doesnt stress out..

Child protective services should take their children away and they should be thrown in an overcrowded jail cell for being so stupid! There is no way she will be able to raise a child who will contribute anything to society. She is dumbing down the gene pool more and more. I’m willing to bet she’ll have another kid before she is out of her teens.
This honestly depends on the person, if you have smoked weed say everyday for years, or even every couple days for long periods of time the odds of you stopping entirely for a pregnancy or any reason are slim. When people stop smoking weed after extensive use they usually have trouble falling asleep, develop a short fuse and can get angry for no reason at all, as well as they tend to eat less because lack of appetite. If I was carrying a child I would not want any of these above things to be going on for 9 months, my friend recently had a baby and she is a casual marijuana smoker, during her pregnancy the doctor said if she smoked just a puff or 2 every 3 to 6 days it wouldn’t harm the child. Now yes its almost not worth smoking to most people if that’s all you can have but this much will still hold off any of those nasty feelings i talked about above. Now to show some actual information i found——- How can marijuana affect the unborn baby? Studies of marijuana in pregnancy are inconclusive because many women who smoke marijuana also use tobacco and alcohol. What i read out of this is marijuana might not be so bad but tobacco and alcohol are bad, they cant even say marijuana alone can cause horrible harm they have to lump in other drugs. One more question and answer i found was —–What if I smoked marijuana before I knew I was pregnant ?According to Dr. Richard S. Abram, author of Will it Hurt the Baby, "occasional use of marijuana during the first trimester is unlikely to cause birth defects."
I am not saying smoke a bunch of weed if your pregnant and nothing bad will happen, but i am saying there are millions of things that can go wrong with or without, so don’t let peoples online opinions depict what you do, consult a Professional, explain the situation and figure out a solution that work’s out for you.
