My son is now two and I have been trying to lose weight since I have had my baby. During my pregnancy I gain around 65 pounds; my pre-pregnancy weight was 135. Right now I am 160 and still trying my best t get to at least 140 but it’s so hard. As for my tummy, while it’s not saggy, it’s not as firm as it was before I had my son. Are there any tips that I can follow as it relates to changing my excercise regimen (I do at least 3 times a week: 20 minutes on the stair climber, 20 minutes on the tredmill, and at least 30 miuntes weight training and abdominal work) and diet.

Sometimes its not your activity its your diet. Eating frequent low fat foods will help. the healthiest eating is –
eating about the size of your fist 6 times a day. one meal veggies, next fruit, next breads or meats whatever order u like. or perhaps you want to dine with the family use the last or first meal of the day and have 2 ozs. of a meat or soy product. 4ozs. of fruit or veggie (don’t mix them it will count each other out when digesting.) and max 2 breads. like a roll and a thin sliver of cake. by not outing the treat u loose the weight faster. drink warm lemon water and herb tea for cleansing and cut out most (all if u can-dark colored) sodas as 1 soda a day can make u gain almost 15 lbs. enjoy your baby relax a little and know that common household chores and walking after meals is just as good as the normal weekly work out.

I just had a baby too, 7 weeks ago and am trying to lose all 40 or 60 pounds of baby fat… I bought the DVD Turbo Jam, and I started it, it’s really hard and a great work out but sadly I have other health problems that won’t let me exercise the way I want.. But I believe that it will work once I am able to do it.

Good luck and I know how you feel.

I too gained 65 pounds in my pregnancy—my daughter is now four. Start by making small easy changes. Do you drink Coke? Switch to diet. Do you take the elevator? Take the stairs. When it comes to exercising, take your son with you. Go for a walk, jump in the pool together, whatever. It will take awhile to get used to the changes, but before you know it, the pounds will be coming off and you won’t even notice. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself…that’s what will make you run to get that Big Mac. Have fun with it.
