Does the opposite for CM, makes it more "runny". Sorry for TMI! But it makes more EW CM which is much more sperm friendly, thus improving your odds.

However, there are more healthy ways of going about that…

Taking Evening Primrose Oil, or Flax Seed Oil for example.

Mucinex is an expectorant which means it thins mucous. In this case it thinks the cervical mucous and helps the sperm pass through the cervix more easily. I used a cough syrup much in this manner to conceive my second child, guaifenesin is the active ingredient that aides in thinning the mucous, so I took a cough syrup only containing guaifenesin as the active ingredient and got pregnant the first month I used it, we had been trying for 8 months prior to try it, so I do believe it works.

Mucinex works by thinning out mucus, including cervical mucus. The thought is, the thinner your cervical mucus is, the easier it is for the sperm to pass through. A cheaper alternative since Mucinex is a brand name is just to get generic guafenesin (or generic Robitussin ONLY, not Robitussin DM or the other formulas), it’s the same thing, Just look at the active ingredients. I think the only difference is in how often the doses are.
