I keep hearing girls talking at school about how they got pregnant even though the guy used a condom, how is this possible?

Abstinence is the only birth control method that works 100% of the time.
Everything else has a chance of failing.
could of broke, had a hole in it, slipped off who knows
it could have broken.or the guy lied and didnt use one.
dont believe them. when i lived with my ex.. his mom worked at planned parenthood.. well my ex’s little sister would fill the condoms with water.. and throw them into the streets.. and they wouldnt break.. so unless the condom was tampered with or was old.. thats the only way i would think they would break. but ive used condoms for 5 yrs now.. and not once did they break.. with exception with my son.. we didnt use a condom.
Even if it is used right they are only about 98% effective. Though it seems easy to use and mistake proof they arent. They can be come old wore have small hole etc. Also if it slips there is a chance that it leak when he withdraws. That is why the best ways is not to do anything till you are ready to take care of a child. There is no other way that is 100%
Condoms, when used properly, are about 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. They could fail if they break or come off during intercourse, however, both of these occurrences are rare. I used condoms for many, many years as a sole birth control method and I never had a condom break, come off during sex and I never became pregnant.
I would say that some of the women at your school are embarrassed to admit that they didn’t use any form of birth control and pregnancy was the result. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard this from people, whether they are taking the pill, using condoms, etc. No one ever seems to want to admit that they didn’t use birth control.
You should disregard what you are hearing from people and consider both condoms and the birth control pill to be very effective at preventing pregnancy. If you use these methods correctly, they will work. If you are very concerned about becoming pregnant, use condoms and the pill together!
