We recently had a miscarriage in April 2007…how likely is it to conceive another set of twins? We’re about 6wks prego now. I’m 24yo and so is my husband. We have a 4 1/2 yo son now. There are no twins in our family. My mom and her sister have been pregnant with twins twice, but unfortunately lost their babies every time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all!

It depends on if your twins were identical. That’s a genetic anomaly and there’s no way to increase or predict your chances of having a set of identicals. If they were fraternal then you might be likely to get pregnant with another set. There are a few ways to increase your odds of twins. One is if you’ve had twins before. Even though you miscarried you’ve already increased your chances. I’d also say that you DO have a family history based on your mother and aunt. Just because they didn’t carry to term doesn’t mean they don’t have the genes for twins.

Just be patient and wait until you have an u/s. =)
