I would use a ovulation calender they tell you your most fertile days and when you ovulate .

The best way to determine fertility is to chart Body Basal Temperature (BBT) and look at cervical mucus. The body goes through a number of changes just prior to ovulation. A woman’s resting temperature increases and her cervical fluid gets more viscous in preparation for the sperm to travel through it. All women have different cycle lengths and ovulate at different points in their cycles. Many woman also experience cycles without ovulating. If your friend tracks her BBT she will be able to tell if she has ovulated. She will also know when. Good luck!

jinalyn response is an idiot…dont listen to her.

OK, so when to TTC. You count days in theory. The first day of a full bleed cycle (not spotting or if you start late day begin counting the next morning) to the next first day of your next full bleed cycle is your ‘cycle length’. In theory you should ovulate mid-way. The first phase, the ovulation phase (which happens mid-cycle) and then the luteal phase. The luteal phase and the first phase should = the same amount of time. A luteal phase that is less than 7 days can suggest a luteal phase defect.

OK, so if you have a 28 day cycle (day of first full flow to day of next full flow) and its consistantly occuring every 28 days, you should technically ovulate around day 14. If you have a 30 day cycle, day 15. You will want to have intercourse every other day beginning the week before ovulation and going until three days after ovulation. This will ensure early ovulation or late ovulation be considered when TTC. Having intercourse every OTHER day will allow the man to increase sperm counts again to help increase odds of pregnancy. You can on the other hand have intercouse every day or more than once a day, if you wish, sperm count will just reduce and so where as you might have 50M on day 1, 3, 5, 7, you might only have 50M day 1, 30M day 2, 10M day 3, and by the time you would really conceive only have 5M which is considered ‘low’. Anything under 10M is actually considered low by urologist perspective.

Sperm lives up to 4 days and can take up to 24 hours to reach an egg. Eggs only live about 24 hours. So, to increase your odds, do as Ive recommended. Good luck!

Most docs give the basic range at about 14 days after the first day of your period. But it really varies for most women. Signs she should be looking for is she needs to be looking at her cervical mucous. When you get Egg White cervical mucous ovulation will happen within around a week or so.

My doc told me i need to start having sex on chart day 10, (10 days after i start my period) every other day until i start my next period cycle.
    GOod luck
