How long after you went off birth control pills did you conceive?

And how long were you on birth control pills?

I have been on birth control pills for 5 years and went off this week. My doctor said I did NOT have to wait to get pregnant and getting pregnant early would not result in a miscarriage. So we are trying this month.

I am worried it may take a long time because of the pills.

What was your experience with the pill and conceiving?

I was on the pill for about 4 years and it took me only about a month to become pregnant. They told me it could take about a year but now I am expecting my son in Jan so good luck

It really depends on the person and your age. How long you were on the pill doesn’t affect your ability to conceive (old wives tale). When I went off the pill at 35 my doctors told me to give it 6 months and if I wasn’t pregnant by then to come in. They told me it could take a while because of my age. Three months later I was pregnant. I had been on the pill 2 years. When I was 25 and decided to have my first child I came off the pill and was pregnant within a month. I had been on the pill 9 years at that point. So you just never know.

They best thing you can do is really pay attention to your cycles. Your first cycle may be late, so be aware of that. Your body may need time to readjust.

I think it has none. I got pregnant right away( you know what they say though, when you try it takes longer…lol) If anything I would expect 2 full cycles to get you normal again( buy the ovulation tests)

    Good Luck!!!

I had been on the pill for seven years when I talked my husband into trying for a baby. I told him it would take a while, since I had been on so long. Wrong. I went off in August I was pregnant in September. He wasn’t too happy, because he thought he had more time. So don’t count on it taking longer, it may, although you may be like me and concieve quickly.
