as has been said if after a year you still have not conceived i would see a doctor. they will do lots of test starting with ovulation and sperm tests.

    good luck

Well I’m a healthy 28 yr old and I’ve been trying for a yr now. :( I just bought an ovulation kit and started using that this week, so we’ll see if that helps me track the right days. Good luck to us both. P.S. I do have a 5 yr old son, so I know I can conceive, and my husband checked out okay, so I wish I knew why it was taking so long. :(

1 year. They say for women under 35, it can take up to 12 months to get pregnant, and if it takes longer than that, you should see a fertility specialist. When I was 30, I started trying to get pregnant and after 1 year had to see a fertility specialist. good luck

It can take one try, or it can take a year.
Statistically, a healthy couple with no fertility issues has about a 20-30% chance of pregnancy each cycle of ‘actively trying.’ Most will be pregnant within 6 months.

If you aren’t pregnant within a year seek medical advice.

I’m 27 and healthy. Never smoked a day in my life and rarely drink.
I am on month 7now :( My doctor told me I was fine, but if after a yr no success she said to come back for additional testing.
Some people get lucky on first try , and others dont :(

Get an ovulation kit and start charting or timing your cycles. This will help you narrow down the window of opportunity and increase your chances.

After you have sex you should hang upside down and shake your behind to get the semen to splash around inside your body. Also, its advisable to abstain from anal sex, because anal sex does not lead to pregnancy. Don’t waste time with a fertility clinic, they just tell you not to have anal sex. Its absolutely ridiculous.

The usual answer to that is one year at TTC…

But if you are worried, there are things you can do now… you should try to know your cycle…

Simple observation of your cycle can help you get an idea if you have a problem or your husband has a problem…

If your period was regular but once you start TTC it is not regular anymore… it is a sign that fertilisation of the egg is working: no problem with husband…

If the problem is at implantation… it usually simply takes more time to achieve success…

The doctors say about a year.

Well I had my first son at 16 and my second son at 25 both without trying. (condoms with the first one that clearly didn’t work lol) But I know the experts say it can take a healthy fertile couple up to a year to make a baby so I would say if both you and your partner are healthy and fertile your odds are good at being pregnant within the first year of trying. My sister in-law and brother took them 4 months of trying with their first (she was 25 he was 28),3 months with their second 2 years later (she lost it at 10 weeks) and then the first month after the dr gave them the greenlight.Other people takes much longer or much less.Good luck and baby dust to you.

Hiya, yes it is possible to concieve first time although unfortunatly its not ultra common. Here’s some statistics that I hope can help: 50% of couples concieve within the first 3 months, 80% concieve within the first year. And doctors don’t tend to hold out tests on healthy young girls until they have been trying to concieve naturaly and have been unsuccessful. Its a pain having to wait that long I know! But hold hope, maybe try a fertility monitor or if you have regular cycles you can work out your most fertile times (using the first day of your period as day one) by using your 14th day as a guideline for ovulation, which makes the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th days your most fertile time. Also have enjoyable sex often, I’d advise to have sex every or every other day during your fertile time. You also have better chances of concieving using doggy style or military style and once you’ve finished try putting a pillow under your bum to elevate your hips as this also can help direct the sperm. I wish you all the best huni and baby dust to you! Xx
