How long did it take for you to conceive?

I went on the pill (ortho tri cyclen) at 16, and just went off it this July (I’m 24 now). So I was on it continuously for about 8 years and now my husband and I are just "seeing what happens" aka not really trying, no charting, etc. We decided that if we’re not preg by January, we will really start to "try". Anyway, I’ve gotten my period each month I’ve been off the pill, and I seem to be back to a 28 day cycle already (well, so far at least). I’m just concerned that it will take a long time to conceive since I was on the pill for so long. I know that it’s not unusual to not be preg yet, it’s only been 2 cycles and again, we’re not "trying". So my question is this: Is there anyone who was on the pill as long as I was, and how long did it take you to conceive? Did your cycle return to normal right after going off the pill? Does it seem like a good sign that mine did? Lots of questions, I know. Thanks!
One thing I just wanted to add is that my period on the pill was 5 days, and now that I’m off it, it’s been only about 3 days and is much lighter…am I just lucky or could that mean something is still "off"?
I was on the same pill for about 3 years. I went off the pill in November and was pregnant in February. We weren’t actively trying we just weren’t being careful. Call your doctor and ask him what he thinks. I know when I am not on the pill, my period is longer and heavier, but each person is different too. Good luck!!!
Hmm I wasnt on the pill and got pregnant in 3 months. But I think from memory its 1-2 years sometimes.
I was on the pill for 4 years. (Yasmin) Me and my husband decided to try to have another baby. I took my last pill Nov. 14th. I found out I was pregnant December 15th. Nuff said
