I’m young, in good health, slightly overweight (but BMI is less than 30), Five foot four inches, and having a regular but long cycle (40 days). How long do you think it will take me to conceive?

It’s my first month charting bbt.
We "baby dance" about every other day, or every third day.

Also, how long did it take you to conceive and what were your circumstances?

Thanks!

I conceived 2 weeks after having surgery! We weren’t trying to get pregnant, but I went off birth control and our attitudes were, "If it happens, great! But if not, that’s ok too. It’ll happen eventually." This may be TMI but for some reason, a week after I have surgery (I’ve had 2) I become insatiable! So we were having sex twice a day for a week after I recovered and I got pregnant that weekend! I know, crazy, right? But that’s what you gotta do – not have surgery, but just have sex to have fun. When procreation’s on your mind it doesn’t seem to happen. I did all that stuff: charting BBT, counting days, fertility tests, and none of it worked. Seriously, don’t try and it’ll happen!

15 months. We are both normal and heathly. We were charting and everything. I started taking FertilAid and got pregnant that same month! YAY! Now I have a rumbunctious 10 month old that I love to pieces! Good luck and hang in there! :)

Concieved after 15 months. I was 31, slightly overweight, regular 28 day cycle, my temperature never changed to I had to do ovulation tests to work out when I was ovulating.

I recommend "baby dancing" every day around ovulation and lying with your feet up the wall after sex so gravity helps your chances!

    Good luck.

Every couple is different but generally, if nothing is wrong with either would-be parent and they are having unprotected sex at the right time each month, it usually takes less than one year to get pregnant.

I was about 30 years old, healthy, thin, with a fairly regular monthly cycle and it took my husband and I about 14 months to conceive. There was nothing wrong with either of us (we got checked out by a specialist when we’d been trying about ten months without any luck) but it took us a little longer than average. It helped us to use ovulation kits so we would know the best days to "baby dance." Charting bbt helps but it only tells you after you’ve ovulated and by then it might be too late. The kits tell you 12-48 hours BEFORE you ovulate, which increases your chances.

    Good luck.

my first two: 1) I was 21 and not really trying so not sure
    2) I was 27 and again not really trying so not sure

My last two: 3) I was 34 and trying and it happened the first month after we got married!! I was a little overweight also but otherwise healthy and on a 26-30 day cycle
    4) I am 36 and we were again trying and it happened the first month again (currently 11w1d) and I was SHOCKED, I am even more overweight, so I was worried it would take longer, but it didn’t!!
My heart does go out to those who struggle to conceive as I have watched my bff go through it and its hard, I count my blessings every single day and do not take it for granted!!!! :) Baby dust and wishes of good luck to you!!!!

It varies for everyone. Even heathly couples each month only have around a 30% chance of concieving. So if you don’t get pregnant the first few months, don’t lose hope. Good Luck! :-)

That said…I got pregnant both times within the first month of trying. I am considered overweight, but healthy… and my cycles were regular.
