I’m excited about trying for a baby. Almost don’t want to wait long to take the test. So how long do I have to wait (minimum amount of time) to be able to take a pregnancy test and get an accurate result?

To Get a 100% accurate test a week after your missed period. To possibly get an accurate test 10dpo people have been known to rarely get a positive 8dpo but it depends on your body and how fast you implant after ovulation and how fast your body builds up the hcg hormone that the test reads. There are test out there that you can use 5 days before missed period. Now all of this being said if you do not get a positive when taking the test that early it does not mean that you are not pregnant the only for sure way is to wait until your missed period. Good Luck. I know it sucks to wait. P.S. Your Dr. can get an even more accurate result by doing a blood test if you want to pay for it. Good Luck and BABY DUST
you have to wait until the first day you are ment to have your period
Wait about a week after your light or missed period.
Me and my girlfriend recently had sex while she was ovulating and we are very excited too see if she is pregnant or not too. I looked it up and asked some moms and they say you need to wait for about 2 weeks minimum but about 3-4 weeks would be the best time to take an at home pregnancy test. Or take one after you miss your period (if you do miss your period)
