My hubby and I have been trying to conceive and so far, no luck. I’m just wondering how long we should keep trying before I make an appointment with my doctor to find out if anything is wrong.

Hello there! It is really up to you, but if you see your OB they recommend trying for a year and then look into why if you haven’t conceived by then. However, for me this would depend on how you are trying, for example if you know when you ovulate or have a predictor kit and you have sex when your ovulating and nothing comes of it, or you do that for a few months, then I would boogy into my doctor and say "hey what the heck?" the doc will not even consider checking you out if it has only been a few months. But remember it is YOUR body, if you go see you doc, don’t be afraid to be aggressive to get what you want. If he won’t help you, get a different doc and make sure you get what you want. Its your body and your baby so don’t be afraid to get answers.

how long have you been trying? ive been trying for nearly a year and i just recently went to the doctor but i would say go to the doctor when you feel ready and they will let you know when to do blood tests and stuff ive done one blood test to check my kidneys, liver and all the rest and second one im going for is to see if im ovulating properly. but like i said go when you feel your ready. hope that helped good luck!!!!
Most doctors won’t do any tests until you’ve either 1.) been trying for a year or more without luck, 2.) are 35+ years old and have been trying for at 6 months with no luck or 3.) they see an obvious problem at your annual check-up.
I am 33 years old and me an my boy friend have been trying for one year now with no luck. I didn’t wait a year before going to the doctor, when we have sex i notice nothing was happening and i am getting old so i was ready for a baby. i had an infection one day so i went to the doctor to treat that infection and while i was there i told him we were trying to get pregnant and nothing was happening. The doctor then send me to get an ultrasound and they said nothing was wrong with me , have regular period and a normal cycle so i was ok. my boy friend on the other hand was not his sperm count was low.
My boyfriend was given medication to improve his sperm and we are still trying. It can be real sad when you see month to month and nothing happened, i am getting old so i worry a little bit about that. I don’t know how old you are, but if you have been trying and nothing happened consult your doctor and he will do the necessary test for both you and your boyfriend. Some things you have to do when you are thinking to become a mother is take prenatal vitamins to get your body ready for baby and help you deliver a healthy baby, Don’t tress that can slow down your conceiving process, Eat healthy and drink plenty of water. Just relax and let it happened naturally, worrying about it won’t help. lots of baby dust to you.
i would think at least a year..then i would go see a doctor..i do wish you all the best,, children are our gift of life,,bless you both..
