It really depends. Since everyone is affected by the pill differently, it could take no time before you can conceive, or might take a year. It’s "supposed" to be within a year, but that’s the same as a normal couple who was never on the pill. So don’t let those numbers get you bothered. There’s a lot of things that all have to match up perfectly in order to get pregnant.
I got pregnant the first month we tried with no protection, but I had given my body two full cycles off between the pill and trying. That’s just me. A friend who’s also pregnant right now, just had the withdrawl bleeding and then got pregnant two weeks later.
Unfortunately it’s one of those things that you can’t 100% predict.

You can conceive right away! It just depends on you and your body. Generally, 3 months is considered the correct amount of time for your body to prepare to conceive.

It varies depending on how the pills altered your system. you may want to have a consultation with the obgyn to ensure that everything is in tact because of the length of time you were on the pill

my Dr said that you are most fertile when coming off of the pill right away, since your body already thinks its pregnant, it will accept a fertilized egg well. I went off bc , had my period and was pregnant in about 2 weeks (not sure of exact date of conception)

Once you stop taking the pill your body needs time to adjust. An average of about 3 months but it could be sooner or it could take longer. So, If you stop taking the pill in 7 to 9 months would be your best bet. Good luck and God bless.

It took me less than 1 month to conceive after stopping Yasmin. I was on the pil for 3 years.

I was on the pill for 8 years and stopped taking the beginning of March 2007. I did not have a period for 3 months, the next month (June 2007) I had a period and I found out I was pregnant in July. So it took me about 4 months. It can vary greatly from woman to woman. My obgyn said it take anywhere from a few months to a year. Good luck!

Usually after 3 months or so. Same with, when you start using the pill, it doesnt start working for 3 months which is why the dr will tell you to be careful =) good luck!!

If you ovulate then you can get pregnant…so there’s is no for sure time limit that it will take you to get pregnant. I stopped taking the pill on February 9th…my period started on February 11th and then I took a positive ovulation test on February 23rd….It just takes some bodies longer to get back into a regular cycle. I was on the pill for 8 years, so I was also concerned. But, as soon as I started getting the ovulation cramping and then the positive test, it eased my mind. Good luck!

I was on the pill for 4 years…. DH and I have been trying for a baby for the last 3 months.. no luck yet… I got off BC in October.
Good luck! I would stop taking in so that your body has the time to adjust that it needs to enorder to prepare for a baby!

    hi all,

my husband and i want to have a baby so i finished my pack of yasmin last month, and a few days later i had bleeding, which i think is withdrawal bleeding?! it lasted a few days. It has been 21 days since that bleeding and i am now bleeding again. Is this normal after stopping the pill? also im confused… is this bleeding my regular period now? or does the withdrawal bleeding become the timefor your regular bleeding? i have also had unprotected sex… should i be using another methodof contraception? if i should, for how long?
