How long should I abstain from drugs/alcohol before trying to conceive (for a male)?

I occassionally use drugs like marijuana or spice, and drink from time to time. My wife and I are talking about trying for a baby in the semi-near future. I don’t want to endanger the baby by being irresponsible. How long should I be totally clean before trying to conceive?
Serious answers only please. I’m looking for X amount of days, if possible, so I can set a clear date.
I believe marijuana takes about a month to get out of your system, I could be wrong but thats what I’ve heard from people who wanted to pass a drug test. So I would assume about a month and it would be out of your system so you guys and start trying. Good luck!

I know neither of these cause you to be sterile it just weakens everything. Sorry I dont know more!
