I had an emergency c-section about 3 weeks ago due to incompetent cervix, the baby was born at 24 weeks and died 8 hours later. My dr. said that we should wait 6 months to a year to try again and that next time I would get a cerclage (stitch on my cervix) and a c-section as well. Even though I am planning on waiting at least the 6 months, what would happen if I get pregnant earlier? has anyone had that experience? what did your doctor advise you to wait?

so sorry to hear about your baby. you should wait at least 6 weeks to have sex. even though you didn’t have the baby vaginally it will still be very painful and you’ll have all that bleeding. i had a friend who got pregnant 5 weeks after her last child was born, the doctor didnt say much but she had to be watched her whole pregnancy because her body couldn’t handle the babies being so close together. she did have alot of complications throughout the whole pregnancy. so i would strongly recommend waiting 6 weeks at least……

It is hard on your body to get pregnant so soon after another pregnancy. When a baby is born full-term, doctors recommend a woman wait a year before getting pregnant again so that their bodies can recover.

I had a C-Section with my daughter and it was suggested to wait AT LEAST 12 months before becoming pregnant again.

The risk of pregnancy too soon after a C-Section is uterine rupture which is life threatening to the mother and fetus.

I suggest waiting at least the period in which your Dr mentioned because you want to have a healthy baby and live to raise that baby.

I am so sorry for your loss… My heart aches for you and that poor baby.

Good Luck, Best Wishes, and hoping you have a beautiful happy and healthy baby in the future.
