I’ve been on the pill for nine months, and I recently stopped taking it so that I can conceive. Right now I’m having withdrawal bleeding (which I just discovered from an earlier question I asked), but does this count as a period, or is it completely separate? Like, could I get pregnant after it’s over? And since I was only on the pill for 9 months, will that make my time until conception shorter?

I’ve been off of the pill since Oct and have been ttc since then and it still hasnt happened. The withdrawl bleed doesnt count, you should have your first "real" period anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks after your last pill but it could also take a little bit for your cycles to regulate, mine finally did this last cycle I had because I know for a fact I ovulated for the first time since being off the pill. You could get pregnant after the withdrawl bleed everyone id different. I’m also starting to think the longer a woman is on the pill the longer it takes to concieve, so it might happen right away for you, I was on the pill for 5 years. I hate the pill, I wont ever touch it again, it really screwed my poor little body up!

I don’t think it really matters how long you’ve been on the pill. Most Gynecologist say to have 1 or 2 cycles after being off of the pill, but I found it really easy to get pregnant right after getting off of the pill. I would suggest getting a ovulation predictor kit at Walmart. They are just little strips that you pee on and they tell you when you ovulate. It worked for me! Take prenatal vitamins to boost your chances and to help with neural tube defects such as spina bifida! Hope this helps!! Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!!!

I read your question and I understand your frustration, my dear.

Believe it or not, my husband and I tried to conceive for more than 8-months. We tried to refrain from sex for days and even weeks but it didn’t help.
Worst part is, there were empty hopes – I thought I was pregnant but in the end I wasn’t. It’s really frustrating and I understand that.

I was in Yahoo Answers and in this section quite some time ago and I ask a question similar to yours and a person recommended me a book. It’s entitled "Getting Pregnant Bible". I swear it’s like a gift from God!

It teaches stuffs like the seven things you need to do before even you try to get pregnant to ensure a healthy pregnancy; the appropriate diet to conceive; how to increase your husband’s sperm count; the ovulation cycle and many others!

I am already having my 4th child now! I really recommend that you try reading this book out. Also, they are currently giving free bonus books like fertility secrets and choosing your baby gender! It’s for a limited time only!
