I stopped birth control after my hubby went back to the desert in DEC. i have heard that it is recommended to stop using birth control for a yr. , it reduces the risk of having a miscarriage. If you have any websites, etc. with the facts, that would be great. I was on the ortho evera patch, it worked great for me for 4yrs! as i haven’t had my period in 2 months, going to the dr tomorrow for that problem-since i am NOT PREGNANT, and couldn’t be, I wanted to know if using birth control now, would be ok till we want to have another baby, i would be using the birth control to regulate my periods.
I think it all is different for everyone. I took the pill everyday at the exact time and I got pregnant. Then years later I heard a bunch of women talking at work about how they heard that the most prime time for getting pregnant was two months after stopping the pill. Two months later after stopping I got pregnant. As far as birth control hurting the baby think about all the women who take the pill and drink and smoke etc… until they find out they are pregnant and most of these babies turn out fine as long as they stop once they find out. Maybe go back on the pill and if you want to get pregnant then stop the pill a month or two before he comes back. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and your past history and I’m sure they would be happy to help you find the right choice for you
I PERSONALLY HEARD FROM MY DOCTOR THAT IF YOU START A BIRTH CONTROL METHOD AND STOP USING IT WITHIN A WEEK OF RECEIVING IT YOU CAN GET PREGNANT FASTER.
i dont know about the patch but i was on the pill for along time and when my husband and i decided to have a baby i stoped taking it and a month later i was pregnant every person is different you should check with your doctor because a friend of my stoped her birth control and she couldnt get pregnant and so she went to her doctor and she found out that it was something medically wrong with her
I would suggest using the pill for 3 months to teach your body to have a period again then quitting the pill for about 3 months before trying to conceive..very smart of you to look into this now before you were on the get go for it..

My Doctor told me to wait one month to clear out the system and have one normal cycle. The doctor then said it was ok to start trying but it could take a year for normal ovulation to occurr. Well i got pregnant the first time we tried and I am now 2 months along. The doctor does not seem concerned with the timing and so far all is going well.
