I was on birth control for 10 years, my dh and I just starting ttc two months ago. Today was 11 dpo and I got a BFN. So, I was just wondering how long it took other couples to conceive after birth control & what dpo did your test show positive?

    I never took birth control. It took 4 years to concieve my young (thank goodness I was too young for a baby), and 7 months to concieve number 2. I’ve heard that birth control actually protects your fertility. Don’t worry, 90% of couples concieve in the first two years. I never took a pregnancy test until my period was atleast one day late (meaning the day after I thought my period was suppose to arrive). I just had to wait until I was late because I couldn’t handle see any more negative pregnancy tests. Trying to concieve was stressful for me and I was very disappointed for months. But, now I’m very happily pregnant. Don’t worry, if this isn’t your month you always have next month!

    It took us a year to go into the doctor and eight cycles of clomid to conceive (I have PCOS). As far as getting the positive, I got it at 14 dpo.

    my husband and I used the pull-out method for a year, as i hated the effects of the pill, figured if we did get prego during that time that it would be okay, then actaully started trying… thought it would happen right away but acutally took 8 months! we charted my BBT, observed CM, and checked cervix and was pretty certain of my fertile window each month so feel that we did everything to maximize our chances each month. Finally got our BFP on 15 dpo which was 1 day passed my missed period on our 8th cycle of ttc. good luck to you! Be patient, it WILL happen!

    Hi ;) I was on birth control for about 8-9 years. It took us 1 year and a half until I got my first ovulation and I got pregnant that very month (after 18 months ttc) -we were baby-dancing every other day (I charted and everything before but turns out it worked the month I stopped "trying" so hard)
    Most couples take 6 to 12 months to get pregnant.
    As for your pregnancy test, you should really wait to be late to test (just an advice) cause most test won’t detect it that early. I only got a positive after 6 days late!!!
    Good luck to you, plenty of baby dust

    Dont give up. With baby # 1 it took me about 2 years. I never gave up trying. I got my BFP on father’s day of 2005 and I was shocked because around the time I conceived I gave up trying and thats when I got pregnant. I guess I was too stressed before to get pregnant. Now TTC baby # 2 over a year.

    ~~~~~~Good luck and tons of baby dust for you and me~~~~
