I’m not telling my family until week 20. I’m currently 6w6d. I won’t tell them soon because:

    1. I’m 20 and am a little scared.
    2. I’ve had a miscarriage before so I want to wait until I’m out of the 1st trimester.

We had two previous miscarriages and we told both of those at 6 weeks!! So this last time we decided to wait a little longer..My mom 7 weeks, hinted my mother in law at 7 weeks. Then the rest of the family and confirmation was not until 11 weeks!! I know its a long time but we’d had such bad experience that we decided to wait. I am now 31 weeks pregnant! Good luck!

I have been pregnant 7 times (5 miscarriages) and each time was different. At first, we told immediately, but some of them ended so it was difficult telling people it wasn’t happening. The longest time I was pregnant before I miscarried was 5 months, so we figured we were "safe" to tell, but actually weren’t. The last one went perfectly, no problems, and we told about 3 months. I think we did good because that’s when I was showing and people were curious anyway. It is all up to you though, and how close your family and friends are. It is sometimes nice to have someone to talk to if you do miscarry though, but I am sure you won’t as it is not that common. Some people feel offended if you don’t tell them immediately, so it is a personal decision.

We broke the rules and told immediate family that very day. I couldn’t wait..we had been trying and when it happened..wow! But we didn’t tell friends or coworkers til the second trimester.
