I skip months at a time..I was taking birth control to regulate it but then I got off it and my period went right back to being irregular. Do you think I’ll have a difficult time getting pregnant?

I’m not trying to conceive yet btw but I’m just wondering if you have any tips or what your opinions are. Thanks!

I’m not speaking from experience, but it could possibly be a little harder. Since you say you skip months you might have a difficult time keeping up with ovulation. Your doctor might be able to prescribe you something that could help you with your irregular periods. GOOD LUCK!

irregular periods means that your ovulation is also irregular. if the birth control helped that may mean you just have a hormone imbalance. the only way to make sure that’s all that is causing your irregular periods is to tell your ob/gyn and ask him/her for a full examination. and when the time comes that u do want to have a child your ob can prescribe medication to balance your hormones, to help ovulation, or both if that’s the only factor.

Its not very easy to get pregnant if u have irregular periods. I am talking from my own exp. I had to take medicines ot regulate it and then get pregnant. It tuk me months after trying :) . Getting ur period regular can make u easier in ovulation calculation and expecting the period due date. irregular u never know when all these happens :) . So when u ready t get pregnant i would suggest u go to a doc and get urself tested and to regulate ur periods :) That will make things a lot easier :) . All he best

If you chart when you are ovulating, it shouldn’t be any harder than if you were regular. I would try to chart for a few months so you can try and identify any potential problems (short luteal phase), etc. You might also want to talk to a doctor.

My cousin, who has 3 kids, BTW, had irregular cycles and never knew when she was ovulating. Her doctor told her it might be hard for her to conceive. She had no problems…she is luckily one of those women who is a fertile Myrtle. I am hoping that I am like her LOL.

In my experience – extremely hard. I saw a spacialist and underwent various forms of fertility treatments and it took 4 years with my first (i do not have pcos, am not overweight, premenopausal or have any known condition).

I did however fall pregnant naturally and have a 2 year old son. I have been trying for 6 months with number 2 but have only had 2 or 3 periods in this time.

My advice is to start tracking everything well in advance so you might get a better idea of when you are ovulating when you do start trying.

I also bought the maybe baby ovulation tester but it doesnt seem to be doing me any good.

Good luck – i dont mean to scare you but it has certainly not been easy for me and i too have always had irregular cycles unless i was on the pill.
