How often are you supposed to see a doctor during pregnancy?

I have seen my GP twice so far and I am 28 weeks. I know that towards the end you are meant to see a doctor more often. In my last pregnancy I don’t remember the doctor actually doing anything in my third trimester visits other than feeling my belly and checking for protein in the urine. Anyway how often am I meant to go?
Depends a little on the doctor, but most are very close to this -
once a month after your first visit until around 30 weeks -
then every two weeks until 36 weeks -
then every week -
and possibly every couple of days the last week or if you go past your due date
At least once a month for a healthy pregnancy, by 28 weeks they usually schedule one every other week, then in the last 6 weeks once a week……
If you are high risk, they might schedule more frequent visits.
NON HIGH RISK: Once a month until your 30 weeks, then every other week and your last month would be weekly
MEDIUM HIGH RISK: Twice a month with one history of miscarriage
VERY HIGH RISK: Weekly with history of more than one miscarriage.
Some docs are a little different, so I can only tell you my experience. I went every 4-5 weeks until 28weeks. Now I’m being seen every other week until 36 weeks (I have 3 more appts until then). Then at 36 weeks I will see the doc every week until birth!!!!
I’m not high risk, nor have I had any problems during the pregnancy. I have a co-worker who is a few weeks ahead of me who has not see her doctor as frequently as I have seen mine. She’s scheduled for a C-section on the 20 of Oct and I don’t think she’s really done the 2 weeks or 1 week yet. But this is her second pregnancy.
Most docs do see you every 4-5 weeks up to #28, 2 weeks up to #36 and then 1 week from #36 on!!!

I go to my doctor once a month (I’m 17 weeks)… and as I get real close I would then go every week.
Once every other month then more when you get closer to your due date.
