From personal experience or someone you know, how long did it take to get pregnant after stopping the depo shot?

I was on the Depo shot for 9 years. From age 18-27. I went off the shot in Sept. and AF started again in Jan. which was four months later. By March I missed (well didn’t miss her exactly) AF and am now expecting in November. Don’t look to much into the horror stories you read about the shot and just trust your own body.
I took Depo Provera When I was 14 for a year and then got on the patch and then got on the pill. I asked my doctor how long it took to get birth control out of your system and she said it took 2 months. I have been trying to conceive for a year and half now and nothing is happening. I have read that it could take 6 months to a year or longer.
Good luck!
This varies widely between women. Some get pregnant almost immediately while others take several months to a year
so my last shot was feb of 2008, we were not trying since then but not preventing…i would say may was the first month we actively ttc but still nothing….so i would i say i have been off for a year but it took me about 4 months to get AF back….i was supposed to start today but didnt so im hoping!!!
after a molarpregnancy i had to be on the depo shot for a full year. i took my last shot i wanna say august of 2008 and i got preg. feburary 2009. my dr did advise me it could take 6 months to a year depending on how long you were on it, and your body. if you are wanting to get pregnant i would personally say to wait at least the three months that its going to def. still be in your system b/c you don’t want a baby with defects or a miscarriage (being on the nuva ring-bad spelling sorry- i got off and tried to concieve and had a molarpreg. from it still being in my system) but after that i would say get a ok from the dr. and begin to try but don’t stress..itll come. goodluck!!
