Once you stop using protection, you have about a 20-25% chance of conceiving in any given cycle. That means that every single month you have unprotected sex you have a 1 in 4 or 5 chance that you will become pregnant. You might be the 1 that gets pregnant in the first month or you might be the 4 or 5 that don’t get pregnant that month. Nothing that anyone here says will be able to tell you how long you’ll be able to go without getting pregnant b/c it depends on so many different factors including some that you have no control over.

It took me 6 months of monitoring my ovulation and having sex at the exact right time frames to get pregnant with each of my children. However I have a friend that got pregnant ‘by accident’ 2 weeks after coming off of birth control. There’s just no way to know in advance if you’re going to get pregnant quickly or not.

If you don’t want to become pregnant, you must use protection to be safe, and even then sometimes it doesn’t work.

If you *do* want to become pregnant, I wish you good luck. :-)

Extremely high. But it doesnt mean that you will always get pregnant after having unprotected sex

Edit It took me 3 months after I had the implant removed

  3. Mrs. M says:

    Baby #1 – 1 cycle
    Baby #2 – 13 cycles

  4. Noah's Mommy & Ava due 9/11 says:

About six months with our first and almost a year with our second. My brother and SIL, on the other hand, got married and found out they were pregnant a month after.

There is a saying that it only takes one time and for some that is true. There is always a "risk" of pregnancy when having unprotected sex.

  5. Jess says:

    for me, within a month.

  6. ♥♥Amelias mum & boy on the way♥♥ says:

I was on the pill for 10 years, the first month I stopped taking it I got pregnant, same thing happened with my second pregnancy.

  7. frogma (tadpole due July 25th) says:

About 8 months, but we were only TTC for half of that; the first have was more of an "If it happens, it happens" attitude.

  8. Trisha says:

    baby #1 – 1st cycle.

the chances of becoming preg after having unprotected sex are very high, it would be even higher if you are ovulating.

  9. Annie J says:

my husband and i conceived the first month we tried for our second child and our first wasnt planned so dont know about that one lol

  10. Lu Lu says:

    4 moths

  11. Heather says:

It all depends on your body. Generally you have a 20% chance of conceiving during ovulation. I get pregnant fairly easy when not using protection. I swear, my husband just looks at me and I get pregnant!

Baby #1 I was on the pill when I got pregnant
    Baby #2 1st cycle
    Baby #3 1st cycle
    Baby #4 2nd cycle
Baby #5 Breastfeeding is not an effective birth control method!

  12. Cat says:

    reeeally quickly.

my first baby was a suprise, we werent trying at all, i was on the pill.

my second we tried for, i stopped taking my pill, had my period then didnt get another, found out i was pregnant a few weeks later.

same thing when trying for the baby im pregnant with now… stopped taking pill, had period then missed the next an lo and behold, i was pregnant!

i considerf myself quite lucky to have got pregnant so quickly when trying though, because my sister started trying for a baby and it took her nearly a year.

  13. Whitney says:

It all depends on that persons body. For me I came off of my birth control in October and I found out I was pregnant in January and had conceived sometime in December. My sister came off of her birth control around the same time and still isn’t pregnant. It just depends on the person really.

  14. ♥Little Boy Due Nov. 21st♥ says:

I stopped using my birth control (pill) in October. We then got pregnant at the end of February.

  15. Texas girl Expecting#1 11/11/10! says:

I was off the pill for one month before we started trying, then it took us 5 months to get pregnant.
There’s always a chance of getting pregnant when you have sex, but it takes some people longer than others. It usually seems to happen when you’re NOT trying, since you’re not really thinking about it.
