I am breastfeeding my baby. My menses returned five weeks after birth and they have been regular ever since. How soon in your experience can one get pregnant again while breastfeeding (not exclusively) and with a regular period. Is ones fertility simply reduced simply because you’re breastfeeding regardless that your period is quite regular?

You can get pregnant as soon as your periods return, even if they arent regular. Your cervical mucous may not be as sperm friendly as if you were not breastfeeding, due to your oestrogen levels but that would only lower the number of sperm that will make the journey.
