I am pregnant with me second child and the baby is already 5lbs. I’ve been having contractions since I was 26 weeks and each time the doctor stops them. I understand that it’s early but I have been asking around and I was told that after 32 weeks that you can have a healthy baby. I want to know how to start labor at home. I’ve heard of castor oil and acupressure but are there any other ways I can do by myself.

Just wait it out. a baby is not considered full term until 36 weeks. the baby is still small and the lungs are not developed enough to survive on its own outside of the womb. Do not take castor oil to start labor. i have read and been told this can cause the baby to have a bowel movement while still inside the womb. having a bowel movement while still in the womb can cause a life threatening situation for the baby. it is best for you just to wait for nature to take its course.

Your baby is not ready to be born yet! Its lungs aren’t developed enough yet and it would have to spend time in the NICU. You’re so close to being full-term so just wait until your baby is ready to come out!

In order for it to have a better chance of being healthy, he would need steriods while still in the womb to develop his lungs. They aren’t born healthy at 32 weeks, they are born at a better chance of survival.

  4. Chloe's Mummy says:

Baby isn’t born healthy until 37 weeks, at 32 weeks baby has more of a fighting chance of survival but not healthy. You need to let the doctors do what they’re doing, they know best

  5. Sharon D says:

if you want to talk about a baby surviving, the doctors and technology has made it so a baby born at 25 weeks can survive. Doesn’t mean it’s good for the baby. your baby’s lungs won’t develop fully until closer to week 36/37. if you try to have the baby this early you are going to have a lot more problems with the baby than if you just let the baby grow in you and have the baby at full term.

Just something most doctors will tell you for every day the baby comes out early equates to roughly 2 days in ICU. So if you have this baby now, you are looking at your baby spending months in the hospital. Do you really want that. it’s much safer for you and baby to just wait until your due date, and have the baby then.

Your stupid…. are u trying to kill ur baby? the babys lungs are not developed yet at there is a high chance the baby will die.. not to mention 5 lbs thats very tiny and an unsafe weight. the baby will come when its time. u still have 8 weeks till baby is due. and the last 2 months is when the babys lungs do all the maturing and growing

  7. Amy says:

trust me you don’t want that i had my first at 33 weeks and she was under wait and very sick it was a few weeks before she came home and we couldn’t hold her right away and when she did come home she was so small even preemie diapers would all most fall off her and she has a week system and gets sick easy and she very small still shes 9 months and in 0-3 month clothing

  8. Wickid_lady says:

Can is a lot different than will…. and also even if he weighs 5lbs. that doesn’t mean the baby’s lungs are developed and that could lead to a lot of problems. I know you want to see your baby now, I’m 35w 3d and I feel the same way but for the sake of our babies we should wait for nature to take its course.
