Have you considered your overall health?
You may look healthy and be a healthy weight etc. but do you eat healthy?
Do you eat refined foods? Do you eat a lot of animal foods and very little if any fresh vegetables and fruit? Do you exercise too little or too much?
I don’t know if any of these reasons could be the key but there is certainly nothing wrong with exploring the possibility that eating a nutrient dense diet could help.
Perhaps you should have your vitamin levels checked, especially vitamin D, and have the results examined by a doctor who specializes in nutrition.
Dr. Joel Fuhrman is such a doctor. He is located in NJ. Google his name to find his website and also check out his books on Amazon and all the reviews that they have received. He knows his stuff and he knows the science that backs up the facts.
Here is an example of a small amount of info you will learn from him

Are the docs def sure it’s not pcos or something like that as that causes irregular periods.
Are you at a healthy weight? Sometimes being under or overweight will much your periods up.
If I were you I would go back to the doctor and ask them to check again in case something is up.
You need to make sure you are going to a OB or RE, not just a general practitioner. They can give you clomid to induce ovulation.
*sigh*
First of all, a PAP smear is a screening test for cervical cancer. That’s it. A pap is in no way an indication of your fertility. Not even sure why a clean pap was interpreted to mean no fertility issue.
Skipping periods the way you do (months at a time) is a BIG indicator that something is wrong. Having 4-5 periods a year is NOT normal.
When you are serious about getting pregnant, see the right doctor who can properly test, diagnose, and treat you. That doctor is not a general doctor or an OBGYN. You need an RE, fertility specialist. It sounds like you have PCOS and OBGYNs do not have enough training and experience with it, but an RE treats women with this condition every day.
Good luck.
