If god possesses all knowledge, how can he conceive of or create something?

"After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy!"

"After over 7 years of trying to conceive and thousands of dollars spent on infertility treatments, I had actually succeeded to get pregnant the natural way without any drugs or medical intervention "

" I just wanted to say thank you for writing this program and for giving hope to women at my age. I am 46 and I am finally going to be a mother."

Think about it. If he possesses all knowledge then he can’t even conceive of a "new" anything so he’s not imnipotent. Nothing can be new, different, or surprising to an omniscient being. Therefore an omniscient god cannot be a personal god. Thoughts?

You’re right, people with lots of ideas tend to find it hard to express them. Because language is not a great enough medium for them. Plus the ideas are so massive and complex that they are hard to transcribe in words instead of just thinking about them.

The person with the idea thinks about it all the time and thus cannot imagine how it’s like to not understand it, so when he explains it he doesn’t really understand how someone else feels or thinks.

But truly creative people read and absorb all past creations so they can create something that hasn’t been created before.

If God knows everything then he must know what he creates and how he does it, also what he could possibly create or what he thinks he will do in this dilemma, he probably foresaw that someone would ask this question and would wonder what he should do.

The truth is it’s impossible, really, is the answer to your question.

So far we do not even know if God exists or how he overcame this paradox. We’ll have to ask him later. Or maybe he created these laws…..

    oh………..

    ohhhhhhh….

Btw, this is all really heavy, complex and abstract stuff. Really annoying and complicated. Tooo hard to think about and digest.

    Too philosophical.

Freewill – He always gives his creation choices.

  3. lynn says:

He/She is omniscient, omnipotent, and omni-something-else (I forgot the word). There is nothing new to Him. He does not conceive, He knows. He is a personal God because He created each person. It is hard for anyone to understand if they are trying to understand with their mind. You mind is good for driving, cooking, following directions etc………..But practically useless for understanding God.

  4. por jesucristo says:

    First, who is God?
he is the omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent; and infinite
    Who are we?
created being with finite minds. it is humnaly impossible to understand the whole of what God is. we cannot comprehend it with our finite and imperfect minds.
to readdress your question, many scholars have wondered the same thing, but i don’t quite understand why an omniscient God cannot be personal. he knows our thoughts and what we say before it even escapes out lips. he knows that we will pray before we weven pray it, but he enjoys hearing it from us. suppose a friend of yours has made the scholo football team. another friend tells you as you are leaving class, but before the friend who made the team finds you. when your friend who made the team finally finds you, do you stop them before they tell you something you already know? No! you let them tell and rejoice with them. you are happy for them and enjoy hearing them tell you about thier success

You are making the classic mistake of trying to think in human terms.

God does not create or conceive. That`s just the human way of doing things….or trying to.
