I am 15 years old and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend while using birth control (yaz), the next day I didn’t have my period until the day after it (today), I have terrible pains! Is it a possibility to get pregnant while using birth control?

Yep it’s 99.9% effective if used correctly. If it’s not used correctly (taken at different times, skipped days etc) the risk increases.
Kind of scary to think that 1 in 1000 times, it will fail. Yikes! I think I should get me some condoms.
If you read the package (I was on yaz) it says 99% effective…. there’s still a 1% chance you can get pregnant. Especially if you don’t take it at the same time every day, miss a pill, etc.
Edit: You do cramp early in pregnancy (some women at least) from implantation, etc. Your body is NOT used to a baby being in there and it reacts with pain.
It is possible. You must take the pill at the same time every day and not miss pills.
if your having your period thenm you are not pregnant. So dont worry. But yes you can fall pregnant whilst using birth control. I did…twice!!!! I was on the depot injection which is supposed to be 99.99% accurate!! but you should be using condoms anyway at your age to protect you from any std’s. Your very young and whether you should be having sex or not, if you are then you should protect yourself as much as you can.
If you have truly taken the pills every day no missing pills then you are very unlikely to concieve… I take ortho tri cylcly lo, EVERYDAY, i never miss pills and i have unprotected sex with my husband always…no pregnancys….and your cramps are from the peiod…not pregnancy, you dont cramp immediatly after you are pregnant
Yes, it’s possible. Antibiotics will interfere with the effectiveness of your birth control, and if you don’t take it at the same time every day it’ll be less effective too. Missing pills is a recipe for disaster… Overall, I think you’ve got about a 1% chance of getting pregnant while taking the pill.
I wouldn’t worry about it though since you got your period today.
Obviously…no birth control is 100% except abstinence. Let’s put it this way-my grandma got pregnant with her youngest on birth control,my mom got pregnant with me on birth control, and I got pregnant with my second child (may he RIP) while on birth control.
It is not possible if you use your pill regular
Just becasue you are a day late doesnt mean you are/ were pregnent. And Yes you can get pregnant on birthcontrol. I have a 3 month old nephew who was a very big surprise. My sister was on Yaz i think it was ( Yaz/Yazmin/Ocella are all pretty much the same). My friend also has a 2 year old daughter who was a big surprise, she was on Seasonle. No birth control is 100% effective so it’s best to be protected on your end as well as the guy’s.
If you were able to take the pills as indicated on the box, there is very little chance that you might be pregnant. Pills are usually 99% effective when taken properly, but if your period does not show up after a few days, try taking a test. Good luck!
I thought using contraceptive represent the safiest unprotected sex between partners that had o very good, open and hornest relationship. But with all that responses…….well idon nmot know now…
