I have a very high testosterone level and I was just wondering if you could still conceive with a high level.
I recently had my hormone levels checked and found that my testosterone level was extremely high. I am on metformin to help with insulin and my endocrinologist says that the met should help with the hormones too. I’m just curious if there is anyone else who has had this problem and still conceived.
I have been on metformin (which is glucophage) for about 5 months and I have been diagnosed with PCOS.
High levels of testosterone are a good indicator for PCOS. If you haven’t been diagnosised with this yet you can talk to your ObGyn. They would probably put you on something like glucophage to regulate your levels. Women with PCOS (including myself) get pregnant all the time. It may be more difficult for you, but if you work with a good doctor you have a good chance for success.
i think so. i have a friend who has high testosterone. her levels were not checked per say, but she has a lot of facial hair and that’s what her doctor told her. she got pregnant twice!!
testosterone is that the male hormone??? did you ask your doctor this question?
You can, woman have a lot less testosterone but you can still get prego.
This is weird that I ran into this because I just got my lab test and I spoke to my nurse. According to my nurse, most of my hormones are normal but the only thing is my testosterone level is higher than normal and I am not taking any medication for it. I have my pap smear next week and I’m hoping to get all these questions answered because I have the same questions you do. I will let you know when I come back from my doctors appointment because I’m pretty concerned.
