It is IMPOSSIBLE to guess when you are ovulating if your period is irregular, because you usually ovulate 12-16 days BEFORE your next period is due (NOT AFTER YOUR LAST ONE. That is a common misconception).

The best way to guarantee you are hitting your fertile days (if you are even ovulating) is to have sex every other day, all cycle long. If you are doing this and still not getting pregnant, you may not be ovulating. You can track your basal body temperature at http://www.fertilityfriend.com to see if you do ovulate. The ONLY WAY to confirm ovulation at home is with your basal body temperature.

To help regulate your cycle, try taking the herb Vitex. I bought mine at herbalremedies.com. It is a WONDERFUL supplement.

    Good luck!

Start testing on the 1st, & if u want to regulate ur cycle, take at least 200 mg a day of a b6 supplement with a daily prenatal. Somehow it helps & that’s what i been doing.

Start doing your ovulation tests on the 25th or just have sex every other day until the start of your next period. If your cycles are very irregular then I suggest seeing a doctor for fertility testing as you may not be ovulating properly.
    Good Luck!

Well, since you’re taking the ovulation test you should be able to see for youself when you’ll be ovulating. I’m hoping you know the lenght of your cycles.

If say your cycles are 30 days apart, then you’d count 14 days before your expected period and you would be ovulating on that day. We’ll use 30 day cycles. Since you had a period on May 16th, your next period with a 30 days cycle would be on June 15th. You have to count back 14 days before your expected period and not 14 days after you started your period. So your ovulation day would be on June 1st.

Start trying to conceive 5 days before you ovulate, the day of ovulation, and the day after ovulation just to make sure. BUT…there is such a thing as too much sex. Have sex, if possible, around 5pm each day. They say most women ovulate around 5pm-7pm the day they ovulate. No more than once a day or else the sperm will be reduced in count.

Here’s what I did to conceive since it took us a long time with these pregnancies:

-take 3000mg of Evening Primrose Oil per day (2 pills of 500mg each, 3 times a day). Take the pills only from the day you start your period to the day you ovulate (which is why you NEED to know when you ovulate). If you take these pills after the ovulation date until the day before your period is due, it WILL cause you to miscarry…that’s what I think happened to me last year. **These pills are to help build your mucus on your cervix which help to bring in the sperm and keep it alive.**

-drink 1 tsp. of Robutussin (Expectorant) 3 times a day for ONLY the last 5 days before you ovulate (do NOT drink Robutussin the day after you have ovulated because it can cause cleft lips on babies) **This too is to help build cervical mucus**

-after having sex, raise your hips/legs while lying down for at least 20 minutes so the sperm will go down to your cervix

-do not douche, do not go to the bathroom for a couple hours after having sex just to make sure the sperm stays in you for as long as it can

-feel your cervix every single day at the same time, you’ll start noticing the difference in your cervix as you become good at it. (while ovulating, the cervix will be very soft, wet, and open) If you’re not ovulating yet, your cervix will be tightly closed and dryer

-body temperature: kind of hard to explain but take it every single morning, at the same times, once you see it’s elevated that means you’re already ovulated so it’s too late to try (mine was usually 97.6, after I ovulated it would go up to 98.8-99.0) Everyone’s different though

-doggy style and missionary position (man on top) are the only 2 ways I was able to conceive, probably since the penis and sperm can reach in more deeply

-do NOT smoke, as you probably know this already

-take a bath around ovulation time, to relax your body, makes conceiving better since you’re not stressed out

Since your period is irregular, that clearblue ovulation test will help. Don’t expect it to work today, you’re more than likely not ovulating yet. It will supposibly tell you you’re about to ovulate I think 2 days before you actually ovulate. So do all these and you should be able to conceive no problem. If you do take the Evening Primrose Oil which I highly recomment or the Robutussin, make sure not to use it after the test tells you you’re going to ovulate within those 2 days.
