I already posted this question, but I got very ignorant responses. Obviously she should go to the doctor, but it’s not an option right now at all.
My friend is 19 and is pregnant, and she’s not telling her mom until she’s a few more months along because her mom will want her to get an abortion. What should she do to make sure she and her baby stay healthy without seeing a doctor? She’s between 1-3 months pregnant and doesn’t smoke or drink.

Ann Dunham was just an unwed teenager when she got pregnant.
She made the decision to not have an abortion and instead, she gave birth to Barack Obama in 1961
Was it a good decision on her part to get pregnant when she was unwed and just a teenager?
And more importantly, wasn’t Bristol Palin just following the example set by Obama’s mother??

I’m going a government paper, and one of my platforms is abortion.

Did you know that unwanted pregnancies are not the only reasons for an abortion. Sometimes there are health reasons.

Everyone says its so easy, physically, to get pregnant after you naturally miscarry, go through child birth, or have an abortion. Something to do with hormones…? I don’t understand. I just want to know what the science behind it is.
I am doing a research project on teenage pregnancy and how a teen who decides to not get an abortion should have access to support, education, and healthcare to do the best for her and her child. I need different views and opinions because this is a very contraversial topic. Thanks to anyone who replies!
Seriously, what percentage of women become pregnant solely from one rape? Abortion shouldnt stay legal for this one reason. Not only do they rarely get pregnant, if a woman becomes pregnant from rape she will obviously have the semen inside of her, and that could be proof she could get an abortion if it becomes illegal. Rape is no reason to have abortion remain legal.
If a girl has an abortion and 2-3 days later a home pregnancy test is still positive and she still shows signs of pregnancy, is it normal? Or a sign that the procedure wasn’t done correctly?
I know there is a failure rate but is it possible to become pregnant while using an IUD and still get regular periods? Just curious.
* Thanks for the info but I don’t consider that abortion. If I did than I would consider most other types of birth control abortion since essentially they are "killing the sperm" that could have (and probably would have) made a baby. Not interested on anyones views of right vs. wrong when it comes to contraception, just wanted to know if anyone ever experienced getting preggo while having their period with an IUD. Thanks
I have heard that the way an abortion is done depends on how far pregnant you are.
For example, the abortion process on someone that is 8 weeks pregnant would be completely different to a one on someone this 18 weeks pregnant.
I also heard that if you want an abortion after you are 24 weeks pregnant, you have to pay a lot of money to get it done.
How long does it take ? Do you have to stay in a hospital ? Does it hurt like giving birth does ?
What happens if you keep it and what happens if you have an abortion before the Navy finds out? Do you get discharged? Will they put you on leave to recover from either one. Just what happens in general if you get pregnant?
Please keep your anti-abortion comments to your self.
I had an abortion back in Feb of 2008 and now that I am ready to have a baby………………I haven’t been able able to get pregnant, could it be that the abortion has stopped me form having kids?

Have there be any success stories, or otherwise, from any women out there who have had an abortion in the past and then attempted to get pregnant years later when they were ready and were able to conceive? Are there any women out there that were never able to conceive again???

I am 16 and i found out that i am pregnant, I called the pregnancy hot-line but it was not much help, i want to keep the baby. I finished High school and im living with my grand mom and grand pop on their couch but i know i cant stay there. I live in NJ who do I call to get things started with housing and getting my life together?
im on my sisters account by the way, everyone is happy for her cause she just found out she is pregnant, but i just get lectured and yelled at =(
Taylor, well your a shitty counciler, i would consider another profession. Abortion is sick and it is not a form of birth control! If a person has sex then they are taking a chance of becoming pregnant and now i am pregnant (but i was raped, i did report the guy, but my family will not care about that =’( ) and my life is already Fucked up but its nothing i cant fix or make work
my mom is dead and my dad is to childish to even care he remarried and i live on my grandparents couch.
Simon P, umm my night out consist of me sitting at the library doing school work, i take classes online for college. i dont go out, i dont party, i dont have friends really.

I’m talking about the occasional case of a young woman who somehow ignores a pregnancy until a baby suddenly arrives. This often ends in tragedy when the girl panics and abandons the child. What influences could lead to this behavior?
1) On a small scale – what sort of family dynamics might she have, what sort of personality, etc. What might pre-dispose a young woman to ignoring a pregnancy?
2) On a larger scale, is our society somehow leading to this problem? Is there such shame involved with teen pregnancy? Is it a lack of resources for mothers? Is it an emphasis on career over motherhood? Or, could it be an emphasis on avoiding abortion? Any and all ideas are welcome.
A pregnancy is often not seen as a blessing, even for women with adequate resources. Even a surprise pregnancy in a 25 year old with a job is greeted with "oh no!" by friends and family. That’s what I mean by "an emphasis on career over motherhood".
