I had unprotected sex 4 days ago and was due for my period, and today I started to have light bleeding. I have been under stress, but I’m not sure if this is my period or not? My breasts are tender and I woke up feeling sick with a headache, but I get these symptoms around my period too. The only difference is that I am not bleeding heavy and I thiink I might be pregnant?
Yikes! Unprotected sex is always so damn risky. It’s not very likely at that time, though, since you probably didn’t ovulate only 4 days before your period.
If you know your cycle exactly and it’s almost always right on time, this may help. My nurse told me that you ovulate about 2 weeks after your period ends (or halfway through your cycle), and the egg only lives for 12 hours or up to 2 days – BUT, sperm can live inside your body for about 5 days; so having unprotected sex 5 days or so before can make you pregnant. You can guess pretty well when you’re ovulating but you never know the exact day. It could be a day before or a day after.
When you ovulate, though, you have clear, sticky discharge. This sounds gross but if you get some on your fingers and you spread your fingers apart and it stretches, it’s probably a sign that you just ovulated. You might also get a small pain on one side of your lower abdomen where an ovary is near the middle of your cycle.
If you can remember any of these signs of ovulation from a week ago or so, and you didn’t have unprotected sex then, I would say don’t worry about it because then you might actually skip a period from the stress. Just let your period come; it sounds like it is. You’re right that pregnant women can have light bleeding instead of a period, but yours probably just started and it might pick up soon. : ) Every month I over-analyze and think "It feels exactly like my period’s starting but I could be pregnant OMG NOOOOO!" and then I get my period. So try and relax… and please get on birth control, or at least use a spermicidal sponge or something. Good luck, let us know if you get your period.
it depends on ur fertility days, it could be possible, just to be sure get a pregnancy test
i dont think that it is possible to get pregnant right before your period.
ok you can’t be ovulating when you’re due for your period, just having sex could make you late, stress can also do that. i suggest relaxing and not worrying about it for a few more weeks, if you still haven’t had a period by then, take a test.
you might want to take some vitamins just to be safe if you are preggo.
