Ive been taking the pill for almost 3 years now. My husband and I had sex the day after my period ended which was also the day i restarted taking my pill (i don’t take the pill for seven days so that i have my period – same as sugar pill). What are the chances of getting pregnant so soon after my period and on the pill?
You have a 1% chance of getting pregnant while on the pill.
To answer your original chances if on the pill and you just had your period then the chances of pregnancy are actually less then 1% (1% is the average odds of pregnancy while on the pill, but your less ferile then ‘average’ immediatly after your period).
However, the pill is not as effective the first day you start taking it (hormones take time to work). So on the one hand the pill is no longer 99% effective, but on the other hand because it was right after your period you not yet fertile. I’m not sure which is a more significant factor….
lets just say it’s a low chance and leave it at that.
