Okay, here’s the thing. It was my first time ever and I’m not sure about my menstrual cycle, but if you base it on the average which is 28 days, it says that I was fertile and ovulating on the day of sexual contact. No protection (and please don’t lecture me about this, it’s not part of my question). I just want to know what are the chances of me getting pregnant, and is it possible that I may be conceiving already? What’s the shortest time for me to wait until I would know for sure if there’s really another life inside me? Please state as much details as you can. Thanks and much appreciated.

There is always a good chance that you can get pregnant close to ovulation..that is your most fertile time. I would wait until a few days before your period to try and test and even then you may not get an accurate result..It is really best to wait until after you miss your period for the most accurate result but those of us who are impatient test a few days before….If you start spotting (light pink when you wipe only and close to your period), get cramps on either side, have nausea, fatigue, back pains, frequent urination..that may be early signs of pregnancy…Hope I helped
very veruy high
If you have a 28 day cycle, you will generally ovulate on day 14. If you have a 35 day cycle, you will ovulate on day 21. In other words, the first part of the cycle (prior to ovulation) is where the variation is. You will, as a rule, begin your period 14 days after you ovulate, if the egg is not fertilized.
Sperm live 72 hours (the best swimmers usually give up at about 48 hours, however) and the egg about 48.
So, based on a 28 day cycle, if you have intercourse on day 12, and ovulate on day 14, you can get pregnant. If you ovulate on day 14, have intercourse on day 16, you can get pregnant. If you are lucky, and the sperm are REALLY good swimmers, you could get pregnant as early as day 11, all the way through day 16-17.
So that gives you about 5-6 days/month you might find yourself fertile!
Best of luck
Every woman is different. Some get pregnant after the first try, others even taking the pill, some older than 40 years with no problems. But as you read in this forum, many are struggling. So my advice is relax, don’t obsess and enjoy your relationship, specially if you are just starting. Because this will help you if you want to get pregnant. If you don’t, just test the first day of your missing period and hope everything is fine for you.
