My girlfriend has been taking birth control like clockwork for over a year. She missed her period. What are the chances of getting pregnant while taking birth control as prescribed?

every body is difrent sum ppl can get pregnant easily birth control or not.
ive been told by my doctor its about a 2% chance to get pregnant while on birth control. was taking yaz for 4 years. And now im 7 weeks pregnant.but every now and then some girls can skip periods.exp if on birth control.good luck!
Actually there more than a 1% chance of getting pregnant while on the pill. Things like taking antibiotics and other medications and having a stomach upset with vomiting or diarrhea can all affect the pill being absorbed into the body and taking effect and then there is the very real chance of a dose being forgotten. I got pregnant with my second son while on the pill and I was pretty vigilant about taking it so I would say the chances are pretty average that it could happen.
well extremely low if she is taking the correctly – same time everyday, none missed, and using extra precautions when taking anti-biotics. stomach bugs can lessen there effect.
I got pregnant on the pill I was taking it all as I should and was on it for 3 years, got pregnant…. guess it was meant to be.
The pill is 99% effective, so there’s always that 1% chance….
As long as a woman is taking the pill correctly, which means every single day never skipping pills, the chance is less than 1%
If she forgets one day, she should take two the following day. If two days in a row are missed, she should throw away that months’ pack and use a different source of birth control. A friend of mine would skip a couple days in a row, then take 3 or 4 to "catch up". Needless to say she found herself pregnant.
