What are the chances of me having a normal pregnancy only 3 weeks after an ectopic?

"After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy!"

"After over 7 years of trying to conceive and thousands of dollars spent on infertility treatments, I had actually succeeded to get pregnant the natural way without any drugs or medical intervention "

" I just wanted to say thank you for writing this program and for giving hope to women at my age. I am 46 and I am finally going to be a mother."

I had an ectopic pregnancy that was treated 3 weeks ago. I am now surprisingly pregnant again. I know that after an ectopic your risk of having another one increases. I also know that we should have waited 3-6 months to TTC again. So far I have had two HCG level test that are rising normally but am still very early in this pregnancy (HCG = 70). What are the chances that this will be a healthy pregnancy or another ectopic?

How do you know you are pregnant again?????
I highly doubt you are this quickly -its virtually impossible. If you took a HPT then it would obviously still be positive as yout HCG levels are still high.
You need to listen to the doctors and wait the 3- 6 months for everything to heal and problems to resolve themselves.
I love these questions because I am your hope!! I have had three ectopic pregnancys, and one miscarriage all in the last four yrs. I was told I would not be able to have anymore children and to give up, and to look into invtro, I am now 38.1wks and having my second son next wed!!! My first two where about a year apart. but my last one happend in feb. I was pregnant again in march, that time the baby was in the right spot, but ended in a miscarriage at the end of april, but not an ectopic! I had a labascopy done in may, and was prego in July, and having my lil guy!!!! so there is hope, dont give up!! Your levels going up are a good sign, did they double or just rise? My levels went up, but never doubled. good luck and baby dust to you!!!
Well I had the same problem back in January I had 4 home pregnancy tests came back positive after testing for a month and a half I ended up getting my period.I was very sad but came to find out in February that I was pregnant again I had conceived in January about one week after I got my period.I was very nervous for a couple of weeks that I would end up having a miscarriage with this pregnancy but I am so happy to say I’m now 12 weeks into my pregnancy and my fear is starting to go away just think positive all the way everything will be fine.
Off the top of my head i know the chancesof a further ectopic are slightly increased.

I know off the top of my head that if you have had the methotrexate treatment then this may cause problems due to what it does to your folate levels.
Are you 100% that this is a new pregnancy?
I am sure your care providers will advise you, but you need to be asking them this question.
To reassure you, i do know of a woman on the message forums of the ectopic pregnancy trust who fell pregnant 5 weeks after her surgery and is currently 9.5 weeks with a healthy intrauterine pregnancy.
There is also a girl who had a ruptured ectopic and surgery to remove a baby and the tube at 8 weeks, only to go back to the doctors at 11 weeks to discover she had heteroectopic twins and there was still a baby in the womb. As far as I know, all is well with her.
Anything is possible, but seriously, get yourself on that site, it really helped me
Good luck

Ps just had to add, there is NO PROVEN LINK between previous ectopic and miscarriage. The chances of a repeat ectopic are 10-15%, rising slightly if you conceived right after the ectopic.
Women with previous ectopics have the exact same chance of miscarriage as any other woman.
that is reallly hard to say sweetie. maybe the doctors can do an ultra sound to see where the embero is..?? im sorry you had an ectopic pregnancy, but that is awsome you are pregnant agian! that means god thinks your ready for a baby!! i think this one should be normal, i honestly do. i think you have a 80% chance of being pregnant and 20% of ectopic. let us know when you find out!!??good luck!!!
Never seek medical advice from others than doctors.
According to this web site you have a 15% chance of another ectopic, and a 15-20% chance of miscarriage.

Just take care of yourself and your body best you can. Whatever happens happens, but I hope for the best for you!
Ectopic pregnancies are rare. more than likely the egg/sperm will reach uterus walls. If your HCG levels are rising then that is a good sign. My wife m/c at 9 weeks and only 2 weeks later she conceived again!
She now is 20 weeks!
I bet that it will be a healthy pregnancy.
I’m seriously surprised that you could get pregnant again that soon. I thought women only ovulated once every 4 weeks.
As far as chances of a healthy pregnancy? I don’t know, I’m not a doctor. However I don’t think that one ectopic pregnancy necessarily means you will have another. Unless there is something wrong with your fallopian tubes, I can’t imagine why you would need to worry about that. You should ask your doctor.
hi there… I just too found out i am pregnant 3 weeks after i had ectopic surgery..so it is possible..could you please let me know the outcome of your pregnancy??
