She has all the signs of being pregnant, weight gaining, no menstrual cycle, frequent bathroom breaks but had her tubs tied about 14 months ago. Her cycle has always been regular since than but last month and this month it has not appeared. Whats the chances of her being pregnant?

Unlikely.
A recent study (the Collaborative Review of Sterilization, or CREST, study) looked at 10,000 women who had undergone tubal ligation and found 143 failures (a failure rate of 1.4 percent). It can be higher when a tubal is done at the time of a C-section. The failure rate also tends to increase the longer it has been since one had a tubal ligation. The U.S. Collaborative Review of Sterilization (CREST) found the failure rate for tubal ligation (all occlusion methods) to be 1.85% after 10 years.
Tubal ligations prevent pregnancy. It prevents contact between the egg and the sperm. There are several different procedures that can be done. One is called the Pomeroy. It involves a loop made in the fallopian tube that is cut out. The tie is made of a material that the body can absorb and when this happens, the two ends of the tube fall apart. It is possible that they re-attach, or the egg or sperm can cross the gap, resulting in pregnancy. I don’t know how you had your Tubal Liagation done and I do know that there are several different ways it can be done.
The failure rate for tubal ligation is about 1.4 percent overall. So, while the chances of getting pregnant are very low, they aren’t zero percent. Women who have had a tubal ligation and subsequently get pregnant are at increased risk for an ectopic pregnancy.
There is approximately a 1.4-2% chance of becoming pregnant after a tubal ligation.
one over million.
I think its zero.
Like, none at all.
Because her tubes were tied.
Are you sure they tied them correctly?
How on Earth did you get your bathtubs to tie?!
I assume you mean that the pipes behind her bathtub were somehow tied to prevent waterflow. That’s a very unusual plumbing technique, but I don’t see how that would have anything to do with pregnancy. If she wantes to avoid pregnancy, I would suggest that she has her tubes tied.
Sometimes after your tubes are tied, they can somehow fix themselves. When you get your tubes tied, you’re tricking your body and it can sometimes reverse it. It isn’t very common but you should probably get her a pregnancy test and a doctor, only they will be able to really tell you.
about 2% I believe.
absolutely zero.
if you get your tubes tied, don’t you stop getting periods?
and if it was 14 months ago, she couldn’t be like 15 months pregnant.
the weight gaining and bathroom breaks could be caused by an unrelated kidney problem.
It’s possible. The only 100% foolproof method of birth control is abstinance.
Have it checked out to make sure it is not a tumor or other problem.
The chances are very slim, but it could happen. Only one way to find out…take a test
The best thing to do would be to go and see a doctor. This could be a complication of the operation.
My neighbor had her tubes tied and burned and she still got pregnant. This site might be helpful for you.
I’ve researched this answer before and after I have had my tubes tied after my last child. It knocks the chance down to 1 out of 100. That 1% could be a tubal pregnancy and she’ll have to have surgery to end that one or her life will be in danger unless it reached the uterus. It’s quite possible she could either be just eating too much because of stress or there could be an underlining medical condition. It also depends on how long its been since she’s had her tubes tied. They say you can still get pregnant under X amount of time I believe it’s up to 3 months after a tubal until every thing completely heals. After that it could be another reason. She needs to see her OBGYN for that evaluation.
Yes it is possible that happened to my aunt and she had THE most adorable loving kid you would ever see
he is such a cutie. So my guesses are she is pregnant. If she wanted she can sue them if she doesn’t desire a kid, because when getting your tubes tied you’re obviously not supposed to have a child and my aunt had a kid, but she never sued because she loved her child so much
her chances are not that high, but it really does happen.
my mother in law.
had her tubes tied after giving birth to her third son.

My mom had a miscarage (sp) and her tubes was tied.
A lot of people are saying there’s not a chance, but there is! My mom got her tubes tied after my little brother was born but a few years later, she got pregnant with twins!
