I am on and have been taking Tri-Sprintec for birth control.
But I also take an antibiotic (Doxycycline) for acne.
I heard that being on an antibiotic increases your chance of getting pregnant even if you’re on the pill.
Can anyone vouch for this statement? Does anyone know the probability of getting pregnant while on both of these?

Taking antibiotics does reduce or wipe out the effectiveness of birth control. That is why most doctors tell their patients to use condoms if on antibiotics.
Also, if you do happen to become pregnant, any tetracyclines can cause serious birth defects so you need to stop them immediately.
I do not know the exact probability, but I have heard that antibiotics render the pill to be almost useless. So, I would suppose you have a high chance of getting pregnant. Just use a condom till you are done with them.
antibiotics and many other drugs can counteract the effectivness of birth control pills, it is still less likely to become pregnant but defintely possible
thats how my cousin had her first two kids, actually.
I read an article in Cosmo magazine. It stated that while on the birth control, if you have a fever, are ovulating (since that rises temp to) or are taking any antibiotic will cancel out birthcontrol. So its like your not even taking it. Which is why birthcontrol is not 100% so to answer your question, yes it does increase your chance in getting pregnant due to the fact that it would cancel the pill out. You should talk to your dr about this immediatly.
