I have five whited faced Roborovski hamsters in the same cage from the same litter and they get along fine. They’re both male and female, around 2-3 months in age.
What are the chances of one getting pregnant? How do I tell? If one does get pregnant, I have to seperate it from the rest. When the babies are born and I introduce them back to the other four, will they get along again?
All help appreciated.
The thing is that the petshop person whom I got the hamsters from told me that Roborovskis are very socialable and it’s okay to introduce other Roborovski hamsters to them. But I just want to double-check.

I’d separate them. Also be careful when the babies are born because the mother sometimes eats them. Also, don’t reintroduce them, Hamsters are OK with their siblings but will not get on with new ones. Hope this helps.
I used to have 16 hamsters! When your hamster is pregnant you must immediately separate it from the others! If they stay together, when the mother has her baboes – she will eat them or fight with the male one!I have such an experience!Just separate the mother and when her babies are born she will take care of them! Please do not bring her and her kids back to the other hamsters,at least wait two months.I have cases when my hamsters fight and eat each other!
i think the others might try to eat the babies…but once their big enough i think it would be fine for you to put them back together…but you might want to concider seperate the males and the females…its not good for them to keep mating (inbreeding) their could be defects down the line
3 MONTHS OLD SEPARATE THEM IN ABOUT 2 TO 3 MONTHS SHE WILL BECOME VARY FAT AND DELIVER ANY DAY
Yes. the brother has no problem doing his sister.. .. and you can tell if she is preggo if you think she is a bit rounder that the others. a sure way to tell…. she has large milk glands… hmm the others will eat them. remove the female.. and if you lucky everything will work out fine
after those are weaned, you can introduce them to the others. SHe should have no problems going back, but if I were u, I would seperate them asap… or you will have toooooo many to count and not any space.:) good luck
You don’t want in-breds.. You’re not even supposed to put male and female hamsters together. It’s irresponsible to breed hamsters when you dont know their history. What if the babies born are deformed? What if they have in them, a genetic disease? You’re gonna cause lots of deaths.
After the mother gives birth, she can be impregnated a few hours later. That is a lot of stress on mom. If mom gets pregnant the second time, her second litter will most probably be smaller in size than the fisrt one.
A pregnant hamster needs lots of protein. Hard boiled egg (whites) or plain (no salt or pepper etc) boiled chicken can give her the protein she needs.
Just please seperate them for the sake of your hamsters…
If your hamsters do get pregnant and complications arise, look for a vet for further advice.

females r very aggressive esp when they’re pregnant..
once d female delivers d babies, u need 2 separate them coz d other hammies esp. d father will eat d babies..
once d babies r grown, u can put them all 2gether..
genially the father will eat the babies, so he has to be separated. and when cleaning the cage, leave the babies alone, your scent will cause the mother to eat them as well, beside that it’s easy
What if the babies dont look like me ?
if the female gets pregnant she will most likely become aggressive with the other hamsters and she will build herself a nest.once you separate them they can not be put back together.hamsters have short memories.
